Does anyone remember when Burger King released 4 VHS tapes of the original TMNT animated series? Each tape had an episode from the series and the boxes were different colors

I'm about 90% positive that my VHS of the 1989 Batman came from McDonalds.

In 1991, Paramount offered videocassettes of the three Indiana Jones films for $5.99 each, again at McDonald's, to promote "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" television series, which the studio co-produced with Lucasfilm Ltd. Barry L. London, the president of Paramount's motion picture group, said the new offer represented the first promotion of theatrical releases linked to videocassettes.

quote:

At Blockbuster, there was concern that the Paramount promotion might start a trend to mount more promotions that take away business from the stores. "Studios will like the broad-based aspect of the McDonald's deal," said J. Ronald Castell, a senior vice president of Blockbuster.

Well I'm slightly before that, but yeah.

Hold up, The Boy Who Could Fly is on Prime? I've been searching for that one for years since Disney+ had said it was supposed to be added on there within like 3 months of it starting up.

I may have to watch that one this weekend with my boy.

One reason no one ever saw it? They changed the name of the damn movie to "Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even."

Cast is actually quite stacked:

David Srathairn, Ben Savage, and the Cleveland Indians owner from Major League.

Actually a kind of deep dysfunctional family dramedy.

I remember watching that movie, but I just remembered it as "Big Girls Don't Cry". My friend's older sister rented it and we watched it around 1993ish.

TMNT was EVERYWHERE between '89-'91. I was obsessed of course and wanted to get my hands on anything related to them.

I mean, I don't think he "disappears" as much as he just flies away.

I used to LOVE that movie. Fred Savage is great in it too.

Man, those old The Voice threads were fun as hell. Never been so freaked out by a boob in my life.
