Finally got around to watching Ozark (Netflix - Spoilers Obviously)

This character managed to make the actress who played Abigail Adams the most punchable face on the planet. I've not wanted a character to die this much in a long, long time.

Yes.
Which makes it all the more infuriating.

I remember the days when people were saying this was a superior show to Breaking Bad
Marty is the only character worth a damn. Everyone else on the show sucked arse.

It was a victim of its own greatness. Season 1 of ozark was phenomenal, just truly outstanding. But it got so popular, and likely had so much money thrown at it eventually, that they just had to keep trudging along to where the storylins got more and more and more outlandish and crossed over the realm of absurd and into the territory of "this isn't even a good show anymore at this point".
I don't hate on someone for loving early Ozark though. Ozark, bloodline, dexter, and I'm sure hundreds of other shows have hit it out of the park early then faded down the stretch for one reason or another.

I liked Ozark all the way through (despite its ridiculousness at times). But the further removed I am from the finale, the more positively I consider the show. It's almost gone from overrated to underrated for me.

Killing Danny was the worst thing the show could have done to end season 1. We all know why they had to, cause Mendelsohn was about to blow up. Without Danny, the show was empty. No one to root for, and the siblings were all just awful people. Danny had a reason to be rough around the edges, which made him someone you could root/hope for.

oh boy definitely not for me. As soon as the credits rolled on the end I didn't give it a minute's reflection or thought before I moved on with the show permanently.
Looking back now because of this thread, I don't necessarily begrudge the show for all the unlikeable people living and thriving and not getting their comeuppance. Hey that's the show, and that's life. Whatever. What I cannot and will nto excuse is the laughably bad direction the writing went in down the end.
The biggest eample that I'll never get over is Marty running the cartel. Not just doing some side funny-business accounting for htme back home. No. He's there in mexico, in the head guys' palace, ordering around his foot soldiers, and literally RUNNING A MEXICAN CARTEL. In no universe is there any conceivable way that would happen. Then you have the big picture, zoom-out istuation looking at things from a macro persepctive where pretty much every single person and agency in teh federal government knows exactly who the byrds are, and what they do, and what they've done, and know all the ins and outs of their business. Yet they just go on about their lives scot free. You don't get to just tyurn in one cartel guy then get off like that.

BLOODLINE SPOILERS BELOW
-Killing Danny was the opening scene of the show and the whole first season built up to it, so I don't hate that it happened necessarily
-SEason 2, and even into 3, of the cat and mouse game of the entire fmaily trying to stay ahead of authorities and not get caught was super suspenseful and very enjoyable
-The biggest problem with bloodline is taht their filming credits in the keys ended, and if memory served it happened as they were in the middle of shooting season 3. So even though the writers kind of had an idea of how they wanted the series to go, halfway through S3 it was basically "hey, we can't shoot here anymore. We need to go ahead and wraup up the whole series int eh next 5 episodes". While the end of the series sucked, I at least kind of pity them because it sounds like it was beyond their control in that aspect. I'd love to have seen how S3 could have gone with full control.

Laura Linney played Abigail Adams in HBO's miniseries John Adams and was fantastic in it.

I really enjoyed it. It had it's WTF moments, but there wasn't an episode I wasn't entertained with. Not a whole lot of filler.
The ending pissed me off but not because it was poorly written. I just wanted to see at least one of the Byrdes (translation: Wendy) get their shite rocked.

Yeah, that was a disappointment imo
If anyone on the show actually deserved it..I mean, her fate and Ruth's should have been swapped.
And if I am Ruth, after having to deal with all that at the end..im teaming up with the Kansas city mob to have eyes on my property so a woman cant just drive up, ambush me and take me out because after all this time I haven't learned to cover my arse.
She should have been armed too..she had her felonies taken away. She could have legally carried and would have been smart to, especially in her world.
Anyways /rant

She made Marty her bitch

The only thing I like Laura linney in is Primal Fear .. she can play a gigantic bitch about as good as anyone
Hated her on ozark and haven’t thought about that show since the finale ended.

Completely unrealistic how none of the Bryde family were murdered, especially Wendy

I mean, let’s be honest. If we were going for realism, the Byrdes never make it out of Chicago in the first place.

Loved her in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. She was the defense attorney.

That little condescending smirking thing she does legit makes me want to curbstomp her and this would be the intensity level

Overall good series, but I agree, the writing went off the rails the last couple of seasons as it seemed they weren't expecting it's popularity, and didn't have a plan to keep the story going.
