I have to go with Hoosiers and Crimson Tide. There is another one that is not well known that he was great in called Narrow Margin. Of course, I think he is great in every movie he is in.

I also liked him as the Polish General in "A Bridge Too Far".

I think I need to watch The Conversation again. I just don't remember liking it much. I really didn't like the French Connection films either.

He was great in MS Burning and Hoosiers. Heck he is pretty much always good. He was Royal Tenenbaum.

Hackman's that good that it's hard to say.

Mississippi Burning and Crimson Tide are good candidates.

This is very true. He's my favorite, along with Denzel.

The only thing that gets me about this movie is the opening scene of the reporter on the aircraft carrier, most of the film clips are from US action in the Gulf War-not Russia vs. Chechnya.

Nit picking.

I know I'll get bashed for this, but I kind of liked him The Firmbecause his character was both good and bad.

Side note: I just looked at his info on IMDB and I can't believe he's 79!!! (Born in 1930)
