ABC

Drama

“Conviction”: A former first daughter and attorney (Hayley Atwell) takes a job from her “nemesis” in order to avoid a jail sentence. She then works to overturn wrongful convictions.

“Designated Survivor”: Kiefer Sutherland is a second-tier Cabinet member suddenly elevated to the presidency after a catastrophe in Washington.

“Notorious”: Based on the lives of defense lawyer Mark Geragos and TV producer Wendy Walker, the show looks at the intersection of the law and the media. Daniel Sunjata and Piper Perabo star.

“Still Star-Crossed”: From “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” writer Heather Mitchell and Shondaland comes what’s essentially a sequel to “Romeo and Juliet.” It follows the fallout for the Montagues and Capulets after — spoiler alert — Romeo and Juliet die.

“Time After Time”: Based on the 1979 movie about famed author and futurist H.G. Wells chasing Jack the Ripper through time. Kevin Williamson (“The Vampire Diaries”) executive produces.

Comedy

“Downward Dog”: Based on a web series, it’s the tale of a struggling young woman (Allison Tolman, “Fargo”) and her dog — as told from the point of view of the dog. Lucas Neff (“Raising Hope”) also stars.

“Imaginary Mary”: A woman’s (Jenna Elfman) life gets upended when she meets her dream man (Stephen Schneider, “Broad City”), who comes with an ex-wife and three kids. Things get really complicated when her childhood imaginary friend (a CGI character voiced by Rachel Dratch) shows up again.

“Speechless”: Minnie Driver and John Ross Bowie star in this family comedy as parents of a special-needs kid (Micah Fowler, who in real life has cerebral palsy). Mom Maya is on a crusade for her son, fighting slights “real and imagined.”

Untitled Sarah Dunn comedy (formerly “The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport”): Katie Otto (Katy Mixon, “Mike & Molly”) is not the perfectly put together wife and mom that many of her fellow residents of Westport, Conn., seem to be. She doesn’t care.

CBS

Drama

“Bull”: Based on the life of Dr. Phil McGraw (who’s an executive producer), the show stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, who leads a trial consulting practice and makes it his job to get inside the heads of people involved in court cases.

“Doubt”: A defense lawyer (Katherine Heigl) starts to fall for her client (Steven Pasquale) — who’s on trial for a brutal murder. Laverne Cox, Dule Hill, Elliott Gould and Dreama Walker also star.

“MacGyver”: A redo of the 1980s-90s ABC series, featuring a younger title character (Lucas Till) who starts a group dedicated to preventing disasters.

“Pure Genius”: A young Silicon Valley entrepreneur (Augustus Prew) uses some of his fortune to fund a cutting-edge hospital run by a surgeon with a sketchy past. From Jason Katims (“Parenthood,” “Friday Night Lights”).

“Training Day”: Based on the 2001 movie, the show also pairs an idealistic young LAPD officer (Justin Cornwell) with an older, shadier detective (Bill Paxton).

Comedy

“The Great Indoors”: Joel McHale plays a magazine writer who leaves the field and becomes deskbound overseeing a group of younger, tech-oriented people in the magazine’s digital operation.

“Kevin Can Wait”: One-time “King of Queens” Kevin James returns to CBS as a recently retired New York City cop who discovers life at home is filled just as many minefields as his former job.

“Man with a Plan”: Matt LeBlanc plays a contractor who starts spending more time with his kids when his wife goes back to work. It’s not as easy as he thought.

The CW

Drama

“Frequency”: Based on the 2000 movie of the same name, it follows a young detective (Peyton List) who discovers she can communicate with her now-dead father (Riley Smith) 20 years in the past via ham radio.

“No Tomorrow”: A buttoned-up woman (Tori Anderson) falls for a free-spirited man (Josh Sasse), who is the way he is because he thinks the end of the world is nigh.

“Riverdale”: A self-described “subversive” take on the classic Archie comics characters, set in the present day and exploring the “darkness and weirdness” under the surface of the town where they live.

(“Supergirl” is also migrating to The CW after airing its first season on CBS.)

I hope they embrace the awesomeness of the old Archie's Weird Mysteries tv show.

I wonder how recent her father's presidency was?

I'm afraid Schur is spreading himself thin. I don't want Brooklyn Nine Nine to suffer

Any show with her is DOA. I give it about 8 episodes and I'm being very generous here.

She was doing kitty litter commercials last I heard. What moron producer actually gave her a slot as a title character?

If she is forced to be her nemesis' butler, I'm ALL in on this.

Otherwise hard pass on literally all of these shows.

Could be good.

I see a lot of sure bombs on that list. I wonder how Lethal Weapon will be. The trailer looks really good.

NBC is really "All In" with the Chicago serieses.
The intertwining episodes & story lines can get really good. I hope they don't foul it all up.

Looking at all these shows reminds me just how little original creativity Hollywood has left these days.

Yeah it's really a lot of dull looking stuff. Thankfully we don't depend on networks for good shows anymore
