I haven't watched it but this is kinda interesting. It's 2nd only to Game of Thrones in viewership.
That's astounding, given all the other GREAT stuff HBO has been known for.

The show is extremely cinematic. Sometimes the writing is good, sometimes it’s great, sometimes it’s awful. A lot of plotting was very off in season 2.
Zendaya is masterful as a drug addict. It’s an extremely realistic and gripping portrayal. It sometimes clashes with the Riverdale lunacy of the background drama.
I seriously don’t understand how anyone could watch this show and find Zendaya’s acting chops to be the issue.

Season 1 was ok, but season 2 was pretty good. It’s gets really deep with the feels

Your line about the writing can be applied to the cinematography as well. At times it is just over-stylized, but other times are both great looking and useful for the story.
The show could be a gateway for people to get into older movies and even older music since it isn't all zoomer music.
Right there with you on zendaya, despite her character can be extremely stupid, she is fantastic in the role

Wasn’t meant to be. We obviously grew up in 2 different generations. I was not aware of HBO at 12.
