Just saw this. Bale does an unbelievable job as a child. Glad he didn't fall into the same pitfalls that other child actors have where their skills don't translate as an adult. He was an annoying little bastard in it though.

Always thought he did an amazing job in that film. Was he nominated for anything for that role? I don't remember, but it was an amazing performance.

I had never heard of him prior to American Psycho so this was a nice surprise.

Great movie. I can't believe how far it has fallen off the radar.

Spielberg loves him some P51's, so much so that he used them in ground attack in SPR, when IRL it would have been P47's.

Never heard of this movie. What's it about? Worth seeking it out?

Haven't seen it yet.

I did watch American Psycho for the first time in a long time, did Bale get nominated for that awesome performance? If not, what a shame.

Christian Bale is the son of wealthy Brits who live in Singapore at the time of the Japanese invasion. He gets separated from his family and is captured by the Japs and sent to a prison camp where he hangs with John Malkovich and a bunch of douchey American POWs.

It's a very good film that I highly recommend.

We saw that movie when I was in elementary school (5th or 6th grade) and we immediately went up to some little 2nd graders and pulled the "Hey kid, you want a hershey bar?" and when they get all excited, you say "SO WOULD I! YOU GOT ONE??"

Dubbed.

Great movie. Liked it when I first saw it in school and liked watching it again as an adult.
