re: Emily Wilson claims Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is too woke...

There aren't 'mistakes' in Nolan's movie. He's made every decision on purpose, specifically for his own reasons. It's subversive garbage and those who made the movie SAID so! Same as with The Witcher, same as with Rings of Power, over and over and over again, they can not help themselves.

So you said all of that just to say it's ok for you to watch a woke show that is disrespectful to the source but you can't for the life of you understand how someone could like the Odyssey that isn't woke and shows more respect to the source. Got it.
You see how you're being a hypocrite right?
Only a hypocrite if you have no clue of what you're talking about, I guess.
Jesus fricking Christ, you're not having an honest discussion, you're just here to bitch for the sake of bitching. I KNOW The Hobbit, and the dwarf + she elf lovey dovey sub story is utter garbage. Nothing in Tolkien's work hinted at any such thing. Which is why I didn't even bother watching the 3rd part of the trilogy.
The Odyssey is a far and away more important work of literature than Foundation. Don't pretend to be this dense. One is NOT the same as the other.
I said RESPECT the source material. Nothing is beat for beat, page for page, identical TO the written word. Again, you're not being serious.

If not the cast, if not the armor or the ships or the changes to the story, where do they draw the line?
The cast would have been enough had it been Page playing Achilles for 5 minutes but it was Page playing Sinon for 5 minutes so totes different.

Sure. If she is cast as Achilles, I hate it. Even though Achilles is a minor role this would probably be the only thing I can think of that would make me not see this in theatres. I have been really looking forward to this.

Sinon wasn’t in the Odyssey
Won’t be the first won’t be the last character added subtracted or combine to facilitate making a long form novel into a digestible 2-3 hour sitting

Elliot isn’t a male.
Hence why I referred to Page as a thin female.
Can you read?
Theater characters have been played by the opposite sex for thousands of years
Peter Pan has traditionally been played by a female on stage.
Shakespeare famously had no women.
What would subvert expectations would be a small weak soldier defeating the Trojans single handedly.
Page became an instant pin cushion. Befitting of the character and stature of the role played in the time portrayed.

Feel free to confuse community theater or historical trends from 100's or 1000's of years ago to 2026 high budget films shot on IMAX.
Oh, never mind. you've already done that.

Why are you bothering? It’s fun to frick with him a little bit, but this unhinged loon has 100s of posts about a movie he hasn’t seen. He’s deeply unwell. It’s funny and sad at the same time.

So now Shakespeare is community theater?
Peter Pan named after a real boy and a male Greek God was chosen to be played by a girl originally and then even in a broadway musical in 1954. That’s just a rinky dink musical from 100s to 1000s of years ago?
Y’all have lost y’all’s minds…
You still haven’t explained how a female playing a weakling turning into a pincushion is subverting expectations

Hence why this is a massively based movie.
You just don’t grasp what he did

Stop reading only what you WANT to be true and try reading what I said.
JFC.
And yes, Japanese Kabuki theater also used men dressed as women too...WTF is your POINT?

Now you're just digging a deeper hole in your back yard looking for buried treasure.

Name ONE 'based' thing in this movie.
Go.
Go.

He doesn’t grasp it because he hasn’t seen it and either is just trolling or is just too stupid and bought into the grift.
This movie, once you see it, is shockingly based and relatively right wing for Hollywood

I’ve named several in the threads.
Have you provided a direct quote from Emily Wilson that says “this movie is too feminist for me”, retard?

What grift? This is a far Left wing, so far in fact that Nolan's own activist academic he drew the translation from said he even went TOO FAR!!
This is too ridiculous to carry on with anymore.

Christopher nolan writes a role of a solider who was tricked into going to war and lied to into giving up their life for an unjust immoral cause instantly being killed when finally forced into battle and who does he cast into that role?
A trans who has undergone surgery based on a lie pushed on them by society giving up their life as a woman to fill a role they will never fill because they aren’t created as a man.
You can’t comprehend subtext and only want to go after what YouTube has caused you to shout about.

Yes, I have, retard. Only she's speaking too indirectly for your smooth brain, because she's not going to overtly dis Nolan as his movie is just opening up.
It's all over the newswires. Just do your own search. I've already posted it here.
Retard.

It isn’t at all. I have seen the movie. You have not. I am an actual conservative that votes and supports actual conservatives, not grifting “former” Democrats.
This movie is not left wing AT ALL. Like it’s not even close.
I know you’re either trolling or mentally unwell, but it’s just not there in the actual film. Which of course, you haven’t seen.

Yeah, it's an anti war Vietnam proxy he's slipped into a story where it has zero reason for being, but invent your own head canon even more. It's working great for you.
Elliot is only in the movie to get her a Oscar nomination, which I'm betting absolutely she'll get.

So now republicans are the reason this movie might make a profit. Make up your mind.
