There are plenty of Russians that are ethnically asian.
Russian Asians are tremendously diverse; they include Turkic Tuvans, Tungusic Evenks, Mongolic Kalmyks, and many others. They are also spread geographically, from the Kalmyks near the north Caucasus to the Aleuts split by the Russian border with Alaska. But one of the key things that unite Russian Asians is that the expanding Russian state colonized them at one point in their history.

are you seriously arguing Obi Wan was the main character in that show? It wasn't focused on Obi Wan whatsoever
I only watched 3 episodes but he was the lead and got top billing.

Because the people in charge of those shows decided to use black characters. Pretty simple. If I wouldve been in charge those characters would not have been black
You keep ascribing race to us as if that's our motivation
Reva is a good example of my argument. Her being black has nothing to do with the anger. The anger comes from the fact that, because of these bullshite guidelines, the Reva character had to be shoehorned where she didn't belong. The character knew who Vader really was, which only like 5 people in the SW universe know. It's one of the Empire's biggest and closely secrets. How about the biggest secret, Luke Skywalker. She tried tomurder him (a child) and Obi Wan just let her go. Why? Because she just said she changed. Does it make any sense in the story? Nope, but we have to keep that character in.
She also betrayed Vader and he didn't kill her, even though he'll kill Admiral Ozzel for coming out of hyperspace too close to Hoth. It made Vader inconsistent, which weakened the character.
The character fricking sucks, her existence conflicts with multiple pieces of lore, and she's only there because of these guidelines. She's such a good character that they tried to sell her lightsaber and couldn't even get 500 preorders.

… I used later that you just quoted as me changing the details.
At least you now admit to changing details of what you are trying to argue when you get them wrong. I know that’s a big step for you, but in doing so you basically changed them again as the quoted response was you replying to a 2nd poster pointing out that you were misreading the bottom of the image not about your post on page 1.

Maybe she sucked because she wasn't a well written character, rather than because she was black. It would be hard to do a star wars show with no villain. She was this series villain, and she sucked. That's on the writer, not her race.

At this point, you're either not reading what anyone is saying to you or you're being intellectually dishonest
ETA:
So B1 on Disney's guidelines

What groups are different on the bottom of the image on page 1 and the underrepresented groups list I posted? Seems like it's almost the exact same list. Probably going from the same OMB guidelines

I'm assuming you forgot to read the bolded line that states "Context is critical when evaluating IF a group is underrepresented"
This is a wishy-washy way of not defining "underrepresented" so they can cast who they truly want and avoid litigation.
The list at the very bottom is included because those are simply legally protected categories that you can't ask about. It is not Disney's definition of underrepresented.

Of course you could say "no they mean they are all underrepresented except veterans" but that seems pretty dishonest. It's pretty clear they think those communities are underrepresented and also protected.

Nevertheless, they still have to evaluate if they "believe" it's an underrepresented group on a case by case casting basis. They can't ask, and minorities by skin color are the only obvious ones

My people, the Italians, are not on that list. I wonder why?
The Irish too. Interesting

Any director worth his salt will be able to cast who he wants and explain why that group is underrepresented. I could present a solid argument that coal miners are underrepresented in film/tv.

Nope. it has to be a legally protected class

That's on you. You shouldn't need me or Google to explain to you that the country that makes up the largest percentage of Asia has people of Asian heritage residing in it.

It is. We’re making up terms by which to wield power and change power structures. Most ESG related terms are meaningless or stolen and had their meaning changed. It’s purposeful weaponization of language to exert control

I hate to back you up bc it does seem you’re arguing out of a corner, but there is some fact to your idea that “Russians are Asian”
Genghis Khan sacked Kiev (when it was Russia) and a number of other parts of Russia. And where Khan and the Mongols went, they made babies with the local women, as well as killing the men. This statement from Wikipedia on mongol invasion of Russia is pertinent
quote:
In a survey of Russian noble families of the 17th century, over 15% of the Russian noble families had Tatar or Oriental origins.
So yes, Siberia portion of Russia is geographically in Asia, and a number of Russians are Asian or part Asian by heritage
