I watched Dale speed thru a massive multi car crash with an oil slick. With no a scratch to his car. No doubt he was an ultimate nascar driver. NASCAR hasn’t been the same since Dale died.
Congrats to his spotter.
Also, drivers picked up the torch for being filthy drivers - Harvick, Edwards, Busch. Dale used real "grey" areas (coil wound fuel lines) of the rules to cheat. He was a filthy POS

Finished this today. Not a ton of ground breaking or new information outside of Kelley and Dale not really speaking at the time of his death.
I wish they had touched on Jr. and DEI forming Chance 2 Motorsports and giving Truex a ride and fielding a car for Hank Parker Jr.
One thing is for sure. Darrell Waltrip comes off looking like an arse. After all of the nice things he said in the immediate aftermath of Dale's death to talk shir about him in this - people said he was one of the greatest drivers but he really wasn't; hired Mikey just to piss DW off. How many teams with top tier equipment would have put him in a car? Not Hendrick, Roush, or Childress. If not for DEI Mikey would probably be 0fer 500+, not a 2 time Daytona 500 champ.

I know at one point they played "Gonna Raise Hell" by Cheap Trick.

Dale wrecked a lot of guys he didn't have to.
Period.
That's why I loved it when Bodine, or Mayfield, or anyone else, gave him some of his own.

Anyone know that opening song/instrumental from episode 1? Epic.
The Roy Orbison song, or the one before that?

He's top-5 all time and the greatest driver in the sport from 79-86.
You're being ridiculous here .

Not talking about my feelings towards DW. Paraphrased what DW said about Earnhardt in the final episode. Basically said he was happy where he was, he had his championships and a Daytona win, had people saying he (Dale) was one of the best drivers, even though he really wasn't.

The first one used during the opening montage with the race footage and wrecks etc. flashing through his career.

Ah, no idea. Some platforms, if you pause and scroll down, it will tell you what song is playing during that scene. Try that.

I’m starting the final episode now. Not a nascar junkie but this has been really good.

Finally got around to finishing this series this past weekend.
I despised how Dale wrecked people. Despite that he was a damn good driver. Watching him and Rusty battle at Richmond was always entertaining. I was at a race in Martinsville and watched him go around the track behind someone for several laps and surgically pass people. I was also at the Daytona 500 he won.
Going into the last episode I knew how it would end but didn’t expect to be so emotional. I was also at the Pepsi 400 where Junior won so that had a lot to do with it along with learning about how Dale Sr dying affected Junior. Junior seems like a cool dude that would be a blast to sit down and have beers with and listen to his stories.
I enjoy listening to Junior’s podcasts and watching his historical stuff immensely more than what NASCAR has become today.
