What mental gymnastics? The critics scores contradicted the audience reaction. Disney KNOWS people are resisting critics these days as multiple movies have had a major critic/audience disparity.
Disney is now controlling the ability of the audience to change the score.
The mental gymnastics of making sense of a score you don't agree with. It is literally the same thing people did when the audience scores were so low on TLJ, again if disney had this ability why not use it there?
You have absolutely no proof on your claim other than a guy on reddit lol.

That was writing fake reviews from fake critics. Not freezing a third party's algorithms from audience reviews.
The Disney juggernaut is more than capable of strong-arming a little review website.

Because Disney had never encountered such a situation and star wars is one of their HUGE money makers.
You are incredibly naive to believe Disney wouldnt do this.
Do you have any clue what goes into Disney theme park experiences? Disney would absolutely do something like this, no questions asked.

What is more likely?
That or someone on the internet making up claims they are doing that and providing no proof whatsoever?

I'd say being naive is believing anything you read on the internet.

I hate TLJ but RT was the end all be all back when the audience score was trashing TLJ, without any verification that you actually saw the movie. Now that the audience is liking TROS and you have to actually verify you saw it, there is something wrong with it and its a conspiracy.

It's not like the parent company of said site has no interest in this situation.
Serves people right for investing their trust and giving too much legitimacy to a review site.

OP
those audience numbers are a sham. NO way after the first 2 days, that they only had 18K reviews.
Disney put tremendous pressure to scam the audience system for Captain Marvel. They are doing the same for bad reviews of this Star Wars movies.
No way this movie is hitting any where near 70%, if you add the bad reviews and don't create a fake number, like this is. NO chance it hits 70%.

It's actually over 21k. 58k if you include the non-verified reviews. Include them and it's at 77%.

I buy through fandango and as soon as the movie is over, they've sent me a notice to rate the movie, making it very easy to drop a 5/5 on a movie with zero text.

Which doesnt prove it's not being manipulated as the default audience score being shown is the "verified" reviews. Of course the more complex it gets the more it favors disney.

Which also doesn't prove it is being manipulated either.
I simply responded by saying the numbers given above were wrong, which they were.
