Doing a last rewatch of The Office

Since it's being removed from Netflix (and onto Peacock) at the end of the year, the wife and I are doing one last watch of it*.
The episodes with DeAngelo have got to be the worst in the series, right? Everything post-Michael is a different show altogether but man the Will Ferrell episodes are unbelievably bad.
*Don't tell my wife we have TeaTV

Eh, no worse than the Robert California episodes

Deangelo >>>>>> Robert California

The whole Sabre storyline was utter crap.

I liked Robert California but overall the show took a hit after Michael. Had moments but never was that great.
Hated the British lady. Ferrell wasn’t that great either.

If you just accept that it's obviously not going to be as good without Michael, then those episodes will be enjoyable. They've actually grown on me over time.

Kevin makes the entire show

The show had been slightly going downhill up to Michael leaving but his departure is when the bottom absolutely fell out. The show had run its course and shoulda ended, but good ratings kept it going about 3-4 seasons too long. The last few seasons are an absolute embarrassment.

Kevin is the only character on the show who’s character is just too over the top to even be believable. He hurt the show more than he helped it.

I liked some parts of it. Cathy Bates is always great. Stanley in Florida was funny. Gabe grew on me.

Gabe was terrible. Silicon Valley basically took the same actor and wrote a character that should have been Gabe.

Nellie was absolutely dreadful on the show, I warmed up to Robert California on a second rewatch but only slightly. The comedy is there but he didn't fit the style of the show.

Gabes horror movie obsession made me laugh

I just finished it all last week, and the show clearly takes a hit with Michael gone. He is the heart and soul of the show, and the rest of the cast were the supporting elements for him to feed off of and move the show along.
Once he is gone the holes ran stale and the support became the focus. You realize then how these aren’t interesting characters that can be the focus. Yes they were great in their short clips, but as the focus with more copy to read they failed.
California sucked. Deangelo sucked even more. Red Head Britt sucked the most. Andy never had the charm of michael, and he was very blah.
With that said the final three episodes were fantastic. The show ended very well and did justice to the series overall. The idiot who took over NBC and refused to offer Carrell a contract needs to be selling paper for a living.

I don't know why your getting down votes when you're right.
Michaels last words to Kevin: "Don't be a caricature, never be a caricature."
The Office writers "Hold our beer."

I finished my first rewatch in several years early in quarantine and and yea, Will Ferrell was not at his best here. I actually didn’t recall how much I liked Robert California. Could just be I’m a fan of Spader, especially since watching the Blacklist. His character in the Office is very similar in hindsigh
