I’d encourage anyone to watch the series. It’s damn near perfect.

Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers, and Rhys Thomas satire show. They take different subjects and documentaries and parody them.

It’s hosted by Helen Mirren. Seriously.

It’s shot well, written well, directed well. It’s outrageous but it’s played so straight it’s almost believable.

It’s on IFC and Netflix.

Blue Jean Committee was absolutely fantastic. Youtube preview

That and the Jim Carville/George Stephanololufagus "War Room" spoofs are my two favorites that I've seen.

I loved "Juan Dreams of Chicken" mocking "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" and the one mocking Vice docs doing dangerous things but acting obtuse.

The part where Hader's Glen Frey-ish character is talking about cutting down that fricking tree that's screwing up his view makes me laugh every time.

Looks like Netflix still has this; gonna have to rewatch a couple tonight.

Does it matter that I don't really like any of those people?

I may give this a shot, but the cast has me wondering if I will hate it.

The Thin Blue Line parody "The Eye Doesn't Lie" is so note for note perfect I couldnt even watch the actual doc afterwards. My wife and I quote it all the time "We were having as much fun as Thanksgiving!"

Best 3 episodes:

1. "The Eye Doesn't Lie"
2. "The Bunker"
t3. "Globesmen"
t3. "Parker Gail's Location is Everything"
HM. "Sandy Passage", "Kunuk Uncovered"

Seth Meyers only writes, doesnt act in any that I remember.

Mulaney only acted in one (does a note-perfect Stephen Sondheim in "Co-Op: The Original Cast Recording").

I hate Fred Armison but he's fine in these and very good in a few.

I love Bill Hader and this show is the best sketch/character work of his entire career.

He's great in "Juan Dreams of Chicken" but responding to the poster, if he doesn't like Portlandia, he's probably not going to like this.

Good to know.

I chuckled at it a couple of times. I have a feeling this show could be one where I either love the episode or absolutely hate it. Like homeruns or strikeouts, with no in between.

I'll add it to my list though.

So much gold in this series.

As much as I love Cate Blanchett, "Waiting for the Artist" gave me a whole new level of respect for her. She threw herself into this role, 1,000%.

I loved the "Original Cast Album: Co-op" episode with John Mulaney.

The Broadway shows used to take the first Saturday after a show opened to record an album of the show tunes. This is a spoof of an actual doc from 1970, "Original Cast Album: Company.”
