frick. I read the spoilers because they are usually benign. I won't watch this episode now. frick. Me.

I do the same thing and watched immediately after I read the reviews. It didn't detract from the experience at all.
It was a great episode. In fact, I might watch it again now as I'm not an NFL fan.

I finally watched it.
I don't know if I will recover from this.

Spoilers:
In a way it was even more depressing because she sacrificed herself for basically nothing. She died but it wasn't for some greater purpose or saving the world. Even if she thought she could get out of it she still took the risk. All for a single unimportant person.
That selfless personality and gutsy behavior (in addition to her looks) is what made her my favorite companion.

Spoilers, though moot at this point
My wife grabbed my hand. We both teared up... No sex happened that night... It was horrible. I just knew it hand to end like that. The doctor couldn't leave her behind for long and she couldn't just leave him. Now I pity the bitches that gets in his way the rest of the season.

On an unrelated note, Moffat talks about the 50th anniversary
Happy 52nd, everybody!
...It still hurts guys

This is a tragedy they've been foreshadowing for 2 seasons. Her overconfidence kept getting worse and this was inevitable. Whereas Amy for awhile was too overconfident in the Doctor (she got over that), Clara was more self confident, thinking that she was his equal in many ways. He enjoyed her so much that he really didn't do anything about it. I think I teared up more on second viewing.
Her plan was basically the same as the doctor's in episodes like mummy on the orient express. He sounded nuts for saying that he would make short order of the mummy with all of 90 seconds, even intentionally wasting much of his time, but of course he's the doctor, he could back it up.

I agree that this was probably the only way to send her out, but damn, it was rough. I kept waiting for something to happen, but.it.never.did.

And the Doctor, from himself, again, one last time.

SPOILERS
The world is broken if Capaldi doesn't get an Emmy.
I guess the movie mythology is right?
Next week looks awesome
This has been the best season in Doctor Who's history.

Good Lord that episode was amazing! Capaldi absolutely killed it! "How many seconds are in eternity?" was such a perfect line.

Spoilers
Simply incredible episode! Wow.
The music and sound in this episode was excellent
Capaldi is officially my favorite doctor. And he should be yours too.
I loved how they portrayed how the doctor makes his last second brilliant escapes.
Clara!!!
What a great montage, over billions of years
This is my probably favorite season overall. Only one bad episode.
I am in awe of how well this episode was put together. And it drew on lots of elements from this season.
Plenty of great lines in this episode: • “Have you imagined life as a door? People keep pushing past you. All of them knocking, but it’s never for you.”
How is the doctor the hybrid? Or is he? The hybrid is me - ashildr?
I'm still not sure I understand how he was transported into a confession dial on gallifrey.
End spoilers

I'm aware. I refuse to acknowledge much of that movie. I'm still not convinced that's who he was referring to, however.

About to dive in...spoiler free this time. I'll lose my shite if Clara makes an appearance. #ijustdontwantherdead
