The Las Vegas one is pretty cool

Hell yeah. I told this in another thread, but I used to skip school and binge watch History Channel and Discovery Channel’s daytime programming and probably got a better education that way.

Edit: a lot of this stuff is on YouTube for free if you know to look for it.

Sad that History and Discovery went to lowest common denominator trash around 2008-2010.

Great show. I still watch when I catch them on Youtube.

History and Discovery 95-05 may have been the prime. I haven't watched either in 10 years now so really not sure what they have.

One of my favorite shows ever.

I think it really sparked my interest in engineering when I was a teen.

The thing that fascinates me most about "How It's Made" is the machinery used in the manufacturing of the product featured.

The engineering to develop such machines is awesome, especially when considering the speed at which they work, often far too fast to be seen clearly by the human eye.

As someone that used to watch The History Channel pretty much all the time, I'd pinpoint the exact moment that it jumped the shark at Ice Road Truckers.

It wasn't long before it was nothing but pawn shops and aliens.

20 years ago THC was the third most watched cable channel among men, after the ESPNs

But advertisers want women (make most of the buying decisions), especially young women (seen as more willing to change brands)

And to get that 18-34 female demo, you end up with...

The first time that I saw Tony Soprano watching The History Channel, I knew that this was going to be a character with some redeemable qualities.

It isn’t as if there is a lack of fantastic stories about history either.

I think the best shows ever made is called Connections. Inventions through out history & how we got from point A to L, M,N,... etc.

Revive that show or something like it. Instant winner.

One of my nephews would call "The History Channel" the Hitler Channel when they started showing tons of WWII and build-up to the war featuring Hitler and his taking over Germany with his Nazi party.

Now you've got Georgio the Greek guy with the Don King hair saying everything amazing from antiquity is due to "Aliens".

Have you seen that ancient alien guy’s wife? If that’s what it takes to get a smoke show like her, it absolutely positively was aliens. Sure. I’ll say what ever you want me to say.

Had no idea the guy was even married. He comes off like such a nut most of the time in my eye.

There’s a show I used to love called “Seconds From Disaster”. I believe it was either on National Geographic or History. Great show that you can find episodes on YouTube.
