I love the “swing away” storyline and all of it coming together in the end.

He really was before his time. Strike outs don’t matter anymore when you can hit the dongs on the reg

He should have been getting his toes licked by models

Me too. I don't know what it is about Signs. It is honestly a boring movie. A boring movie that I will watch everytime I see it on TV.

I think it's because after every line you're like "yea, that's exactly how I would feel in that situation."

That was such an awesome clip.

And I loved the kid in the roof of the car and everyone holding hands to get the signal on the baby monitor. Reminded me of trying to tune in Benny Hill with my rabbit ears late night outside of Atlanta.

After Earth was so fricking bad it made the previous two really look bad.

After Earth has to be one of the worst movies of all time. It was doomed from the beginning.

Reminds me of a topic I should have spun off long ago ...

Signs ended terribly. Absolutely the worst ending ever. How did we defeat the aliens? Don’t know and MNS doesn’t care. Then apparently they die when hit with water? What happens if they land while it’s rainy, or in humidity? Smart enough to master intergalactic travel. So dumb they can’t make a water proof suit.

Do me favor whenever you wake up today, drink the half empty can of mountain dew code red on the box that functions as a nightside table next to your futon, put on the clothes your mom laid out for you in her basement, get your bus pass, go to the corner, stand in the middle of the street staring down the road until the bus comes, go to the nearest sonic, and wait.

You didn't debunk anything. The "plot hole" is not one. It has been mentioned numerous times on here, and I have beaten the logic with a simple analogy that no one has a comeback to.

IMO most of you are giving him too much credit...6th sense and Unbreakable were really good movies...everything else he has done has a range of bad to absolutely Garbage. I haven’t seen his last two because I refuse to watch anything he makes...he is the only director I specifically boycott.

What the hell are you talking about, Francis? I’m not trying to debunk anything. I really liked Signs, except for the way it ended without explanation.

Agreed. Sixth Sense was okay. I really liked Unbreakable. Signs had so much promise but fell short. Everything else was crap. The Village ruined him for me.

ETA: South Park pretty much nails it on this clip- YouTube

I can see that. But you could make the same statement about any alien movie.

“What? They can fly all the way across the galaxy but ....

...don’t have a dictionary?” - Arrival

....don’t have a firewall?” - Independence Day

...didn’t bring hand sanitizer?” War of the Worlds

....don’t have mobile phones?” ET

I've never been sucked into a movie while watching it in the theater more than Sixth Sense. The pacing, acting and cinematography really had my emotions tied to Haley Joel's plight. When the little boys lock him in the closet with the evil ghost and the red balloon slowly rises until hitting the light and popping...the feels. Even without the twist, I'd love that movie.

Unbreakable is crazy good.

I understand people's issues with the endings of Signs and the Village, but both of those movies had such good acting and tension that it more than makes up for it IMO.

Since The Village, Split is his only movie I've liked (though Devil was ok).

The Visit was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I still can't comprehend the love for it.

What was the issue? I never saw it but the previews looked genuinely creepy.

I don't know if this makes The Last Airbender better. Definitely a more efficient and compact story.

I love The Last Airbender. One of the greatest shows of all time and probably Nickelodeon's best in terms of crafting a story so I'm not knocking it but it was also only 3 seasons whereas I don't even know how many episodes were in Dragonball Z

I thought The Visit was outstanding. I saw S1 of Wayward Pines as the beginning of his path back to redemption.

Was't Devil one of his, too?

I would include The Village

It's not a terrible movie, but I knew the twist about a third of the way through because it was a straight ripoff of a book I had read in fourth grade. I don't think there was ever a lawsuit but that plagiarism was a bad omen for his next few films.
