That episode was weak, borderline very weak. Best part was season preview.
It's a resolution of last season. And every episode isn't going to off the chart intense. It's a series and each season has a story arc. Give them time to introduce a couple of new characters. I promise you Quinn chasing Dexter isn't be the only storyline this season.

If he did the show would be over, and I haven't heard them announce this season as the finale.
No but there has been rumor Michael C Hall, was calling this his last season when he was doing treatments for cancer. So they always could end Dexters story and try and spin off with a now fricked up Deb. However, I don't think that will be the case. I think the one mistake they are showing by Quinn is he is investigating on his own and not letting anyone know what he finds. Maybe they will finally reveal a messed up story for Quinn once he finds out.

Quinn = the new Doakes
If Quinn persists along these lines Dexter will cut his arse.
My memory is failing me now: what happened to the Internal Affairs investigation of Quinn? Has that resolved?

Maybe, but I hope they wouldn't mirror season 2 exactly by doing this.
I think if Quinn does find out, then he will actually accept it be okay with Dexter killing murderers.

I thought that I heard his treatment went better than expected. Let's hope.

I think the show would definitely be over if MCH leaves.

Dexter didnt kill doakes.
I though Hall was dealing with cancer during season three and is in remission now???

True, but he was going to (if I remember correctly).

Naw...he was gonna frame him as the bay harbor butcher.
It went against his code to kill Doakes.

Michael C Hall, I believe did treatment after last season. That was why he wore the beanie to the Golden Globes. I work on movies and a guy I worked with has worked on Dexter. He said that was the rumor they were hearing that he was in for just one more season. But they have not called this the final season so who knows. I think a Deb spinoff would be bad too but I think you would have to either have her go crazy and kill herself or show what happens to her. Her ex tried killing her who just happens to be her brothers, brother which she does not know yet. Her dad was cheating on her mom with a CI who just happens to be her brother's real mom. Then her brother is discovered to be the biggest serial killer in Florida. She would flip in some way with how unstable she already is on the show.

People are making too much of this. I don't think it's going to be exactly the same or as big a part of the season.

Was dropped.

1) why would dexter burn that shed instead of taking the contents out and dumping them like he does his bodies? they going find it and know it was arson
2) he didn't dispose of redneck..or we didnt see it..they going find him too..are we to assume he did dump it?

I want it to end with Deb putting a bullet in Dexter's head. It would be a fitting ending to the show but would leave all of us knowing how screwed up Deb is going to be.

I assumed he dumped the body. After he killed the guy, his mind cleared up. He wouldn't be that wacked out to just leave the body there.

I imagine he kills himself...a la Harry. In such a way it looks like he died naturally.

They are setting up the show to where he may just eventually "become human" and not feel the need to kill. I seriously doubt it, but they've made a point to show his progression with feelings.

Rita was his biggest connection to feeling human.
ETA:
I just went back and watched the finale from last season...I dont get how Dexter was on the scene when Arthur Mitchells car broke down? Was he riding in the back seat or some shite?

Yeah, he's learned that he is capable of genuinely loving others (Season 3 finale). This season will see him dealing with guilt and remorse. Maybe he ultimately needs to learn how to forgive (forgiving himself for his misdeeds and forgiving others such as his prey).

I really think burning that cargo continer will come bakc to bite him..he should have took the info out and dumped it like he did a body..I'll be keeping an eye out for that
