My first thought was, "Cool! Now Dexter can do whatever he wants." After thinking about it, one of the keys to the show is how he handles himself in "normal" situations like dealing with a family. I think the kids (at the least his real son) will stay involved in some way.

I'm just shocked Batista and Laguerta are moving in together? I can't believe no one's talking about this.

Since everyone is throwing out their hypothesis on what is going to happen this is what I believe:
a. Arthur found out during the final episode that his daughter killed herself/was killed (any clarification on exactly how that transpired or what was said would be helpful).
b. Arthur then is shown at Deborah's place (In the grand scheme, why was this important and needed?)
c. Dexter finds Rita.
I think this is how Dexter gets off:
They know whatever her name was was Trinity's daughter. They then find his fingerprints on Deborah's mail, and maybe there was some mail that had Dexter's forwarding address (Deb is subletting from Dexter). They conclude that Trinity figured out that Dexter was related to Deborah and was taking revenge for his daughter's death.
Remeber, no one knew the dynamics of Trinity's abusive father/daughter relationship except the viewers.
The police/FBI could label it as a revenge killing. Deb then feels guilty, moves in with Dexter to help take care of the kids. Dexter gets all medieval on Miami's criminals, and Deb finally figures out who Dexter really is.

Past seasons really haven't carried forward.
Like you, I think Deb will feel guilt about Rita ans possibly move in with Dex. Otherwise I am not sure how he is going to handle his kids.
Deb will know he is full of shite when he leaves all of the time for "crime work" to go kill someone. She will put all of his crap together and maybe next season the climax will be her catching him.

I just cranked it up and rechecked, yeah he was wearing latex gloves when he was in Deb's apartment.

Na. She is going to be feeling serious guilt over Rita because of her obsession with Trinity. She is going to become maternal deb next year. Will be funny to see her cursing all the time around the kids.

my guess is the next season will start off with dex waking up in the keys with rita from his nightmare about her being murdered and finding son in a pool of blood...the ending to me doesnt go well.....rita should have continued her character or someone else next season....

trinity didnt know his daughter killed herself until dex told him...so revenge factor wont be the case unless people assume he knew
