I still want Quinn to die. He'll end up saving the Russian girl and that will be his redemptive act. I think the club owner kills him and Dex kills the club owner.

Deb looked less like an alien last night than she usually does. I like the tension between her and Hannah.

Scenes with Isaak were really well done and showed a lot about the differences between a killer and a KILLER.

Didn't much like Hannah's reaction to Dexter's little admission at the end. She's been really unhealthy for anyone that's been close to her in the past. Don't know that she can stop herself once that wall starts getting chipped away for her.

LaGuerta and the old Chief Skeletor... Talk about a tag team you love to hate.

Arson inspector better be a red herring... Not very interesting if it's him.

Very good episode.

No shite. Even if it doesn't have poisonous plants in it... She's a little heavy-handed on the spices.

This season seems to lack an identity.

There is no main antagonist throughout the season, it's almost like three seasons crammed into one.

This is more of an observation than a complaint.

Anyone else think they are going to end up pinning the Bay Harbor Butcher on the burning people up guy. Seems like it will be the arson expert guy. He will be a cop and I bet ends up having a boat.....How did Doaks die? Fire. Dexter is off the hook with Laguerta. Hopefully it won't be that obvious.

At first I was like "dammit, this is getting to just be lazy and stupid" when Isaac and Dexter teamed up, but I actually didn't hate it.

agreed. on the last episode, you started to sense that they were realizing how much alike they were and it seemed like they may not try and kill each other after all. I didn't like it at first either, I thought Isaac was shaping up to be an awesome villian. He was for the most part but once he reached out for Dexter's help, well, that was that.

Also, it is my hope that the love angle is now dead. Dexter had a pretty good speech to diffuse Deb's emotions and make her think she's not crazy, and his speech made sense. Now that that's over, I hope that we can put that little storyline behind us.

yeah, that was pretty messed up man. I don't think we've seen the last of it though. That is something that just seems to big to just become an after thought. Hope you're right though, that was wierd.

I didn't like the way he was so easily killed. George shot him in the gut and didn't finish him off. If you have the baddest motherfricker you know at point blank range, would you shoot him in the gut then turn around and run? Otherwise than that, very good episode.

To be fair in reality a gut shot like that is pretty lethal. Issac ended up being one of my favorite characters in the series. The actor did a great job with it (he was also great in Rome on HBO). Seemed like at the end he was the only one that ever really not only got Dexter to reveal himself but to then understand Dexter and be able to guide him.

So we've got 3 more episodes, then the final season next fall right?

Really surprised they killed Isaak off already. Wished they would have waited until at least the finale because he's been on my favorite character in the entire series.
And yeah, I also thought it was odd they introduced basically a whole new storyline with only 3 episodes to go. This does sort of have the feeling of three seasons in one to me. The whole Louis thing died off pretty quickly, then we moved to Isaak and Hannah, and now were getting into some fire guy. I still like it but this season has been all over the place.

Interesting. Also, the cops found Travis Marshall dead...in a fire.

Yeah, and that is where Laguerta found the blood slide. When the arsen guy mentioned he met them at the church fire, I thought of this scenario. Then when he was in the elevator with Dex it sure seemed like he is the guy

I can hear the internal monologue now, "How many guys am I going to have to pin the Bay Harbor Butcher tag on before it finally sticks?"

But I don't see how that's going to fly. The arson investigator is new, and unless they can somehow tie him to Doakes, there's the pesky issue of Doakes' box of slides, his obsession with Dexter, and Dexter being at the Travis crime scene where LaHorta discovered the slide. Dexter is the common factor.

can we all pretend this weeks episode didn't happen

Thought it was a very good episode. A nice break from the usual: Dexter ends his targeted victim along with some touching insight into life and love. Deb is painfully honest so no surprise revelation. Dexter's reaction was "logical" and well thought out. I just knew they had killed off Hannah but they surprised me.

Doakes was blown up in a fire. and the arson guy was at the Travis crime scene as well. Obviously Dex isn't going down for it this season.....

Yes, but those events were separated by years. As far as I remember, the arson investigator wasn't at the Doakes explosion, and Doakes never showed any interest in anyone but Dexter, with whom he was obsessed in a very public way. It would be painfully cheap to go this way with the arson investigator.

I agree with this, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. A better way would be have Debra end up taking Laguerta out just before she outs Dexter and therefor making her fully a part of this...

Nah... That would destroy the shred of moral compass she (and therefor the show) have left. It's about how Deb and Dex are different, not similar (although that gap is closing).
