Boardwalk, Deadwood, Oz

Deadwood and Oz are ranked the same for me. With Boardwalk currently airing I'd go there first.

Have you seen The Wire? I am asking because you listed the option of "Other" in your post.

I watched the Sopranos religiously and it was my #1 for years. I stumbled onto a Wire DVD set from a friend and I still believe it is the best thing I have ever seen on TV with Boardwalk Empire being a close second.

I've started on Deadwood...gonna do Boardwalk next.

After the first 3 episodes, Swearengen has been pretty great. He's no Tony Soprano though.

There comes a point in a man's life when he begins to ask questions. These question's test the patience of those unto which these question's are pointed. Idle fricking inquiries that roll out of the cocksucker's implement that garnered the asker the name cocksucker to begin with.

What the frick stands to be gained from these fricking inquiries? Will the answers enrich this fricking cocksucker's life in a way that that is yet to be seen? I have yet to see where the gaining of the intimate workings of the most trivial of bullshits has lifted some cocksucker from the level of some broke, hopeless frick to a man of actual import.

And then there are inquiries that cocksucker's ask that provoke the askee's ire and rage. Inquiries that uncover forgotten wounds and salt them with their ignorance. The blind fricking audacity to inquire as to something that brings out the anger and sorrow of a man's heart, black and numb from year's of pain. Year's spent numbing and hardening with the belief that a heart that feels nothing is better then a heart ablaze with the pain.

Your question, is one of those questions. Myself and others like me have long since buried the fricking pain of such torturous thoughts. The thoughts of cocksucker's in their fancy fricking offices making decisions about that which their worthless cocksucker brains are incapable of comprehending. Thoughts of stupid fat fricks sitting inside their homes next to their fat fricking wives, questioning what they see before them, because it didnt pertain to some certain fat wop cocksucker, the fat wop cocksuckers he surrounds himself with, the cuntish wop he married, his whore wop daughter, or his queer wop son.

What is the answer? At this point, who the frick cares? Just take pride in the fact that you have joined the ranks of untold cocksucker's that who fricking live their live's ripping open the scars that other men have long since closed.

I'm assuming that's a Swearengen quote...If not, I'm offended.

I have seen The Wire...love it as well, but it didn't compare to The Sopranos for me.

...maybe it was the hype or just my personal taste...not sure

Oz and Six Feet Under should be next on your list.

Sorry but I'm not feeling Boardwalk Empire and Deadwood's sudden end will piss you off.

3 seasons of Deadwood trump OZ by a large margin. Oz while entertaining at times is one of the most ridiculous shows ever made.

Oz for the pure entertainment of Schillinger. Some of the best quotes in tv -- most of them racist.

Hard to believe a Nazi prick could be Farmer's Insurance spokesman.

Agreed. It's like Watching Saved by the Bell, knowing that HS kids do not act like that, but still enjoying. McManus I could have done without. Some of the Wire characters such as Lance Reddick playing the jailhouse cop were overboard. Still, worth the watch. I have not seen an episode in 5 years.

Every time I see Vern in those commercials, I'm sorta expecting him to call someone a "prag".

I wish they'd lead a commercial with, "You know, I always wondered which insurance is better, Farmer's or State Farm - You be the judge." And then they'd go on to show why.

Deadwood.
It ended the way it did because of the history of Deadwood in that time period. The town went from being self-governed to subject to the laws of the Dakota Territory. Plus there was a huge fire that wiped out the town, which would have occurred right after the show's timeline.

It didn't end that way because of story. It ended that way because HBO was being cheap and Milch is a bit of a cocksucker.
