Anyone else catch Deadpool trying the "lullaby" on Juggernaut? (Sun's getting real low...)

Wife and I screamed pretty loudly at that one.

ETA: Also, him calling Domino "Black Black Widow".

ETA2: Black Tom Cassidy's power being "Cultural Appropriation".

Terry Crews just got hit by a bus, right? I'm thinking he can come back from that.

It’s absolutely as good as the first. I’m not sure if it’s better, but it’s a damn good sequel.

The villains in this one put it over the original. Cable, Juggernaut, and Russell made for much better jokes and action. Gina Carona was the most interesting of the villains in Deadpool 1, and she was pretty boring outside of watching her punch people.

saw it saturday

fricking great movie

loved domino and thought juggernaut was done right. brolin did good on cable too.

it's crazy to me that deadpool did a better job with mutants than xmen3 & wolverine origins (i would say better than xmen1 for sure, that movie did not age well)

I agree, I rewatched the first one last night and the villain was very mediocre.

I think the difference is that with the X movies the creators were thinking, "If we show Juggernaut as he is in the comics he'll look ridiculous", while the Deadpool creators were thinking, "Man, if we show Juggernaut as he is in the comics, HE'LL LOOK AWESOMELY RIDICULOUS!" Same with Colossus' accent. Something the X movies would be nervous about. Deadpool goes full-on 80's cliche Russian.

It's like the post-credits scene. The Deadpool movies have no credibility to lose. They can go anywhere and do anything. The more outrageous and ridiculous the better.

How 'Deadpool 2' Writers Snuck Heart Into the Raunchy Franchise

quote:

There's no Stan Lee cameo this time around. Did you consider one?
Wernick: I think there's a painting of Stan in the [X-]Mansion, is there not Rhett?
Reese: I think there was a bust of a statue that gets knocked over, was that his head?
Wernick: It was ...
quote:

Calendar-wise, X-Force is next up in line. Drew is finishing up his movie [Bad Times at the El Royale]. Come the fall, I think he'll turn his attention full-time to X-Force and so that's next up in the series. I do think we are always thinking about Deadpool. It will be nice to take a little bit of a break. We've been writing consecutive Deadpool drafts for the last nine years. And we've got drafts since 2009 in our computer all the way through to 2018. So, it will be nice to kind of catch our breath. My guess is you will see Deadpool again in his own movie. Whether we skip Deadpool 3 and just go to Deadpool 4, I'm not sure. But my guess is you will be seeing much more of Deadpool in the future in various forms and fashions.

His head was also painted on the side of a building.

Did anyone notice the pic of Jared Leto’s “Joker” character when they were screening the x force candidate photos??

The wife and I watched D2 this weekend and really enjoyed it. We both found the first one to be funnier but the 2nd one seemed to be more of a character development story (and it finally did some serious justice to the Juggernaut).

Was really hoping that they'd shoehorn a joke in there about Thanos via Brolin making Wade immortal so he could never be with Death (in the comics, Death favors Deadpool more than Thanos and Thanos gets mad jealous).

The fight with Colossus and Juggs was awesome to watch and the operatic music made it a thing of beauty.

Cable and Dominoe were on point.

Enjoyed the Black Tom cameo and the reference to Mojoverse. Could there be some Mojovision on the horizon?

Loved that Juggs actually references Xavier as his brother. Of all the things they did to screw up the original version in X3, completely glossing over his character history always aggravated me worst of all.

That and “you’re welcome Canada” had my wife and I paralyzed in laughter for a solid minute.

My face hurt.
