I think the soundtrack is one of the best of all-time, not quite at Forrest Gump level, but pretty damn close.

+1 Very close though.

Where would Dazed and Confused rank on your all time favorite list? It would be TOP 10 about number 8 on mine. Its soundtrack would also be a TOP 10 of all time too in my opinion.

So instead of asking for lists, you're going to ask where individual movies would fall on our lists?

Holy cow this is going to take a long time.

Come on, man. He wants to have a discussion on a pretty famous movie that lots of people on this site have seen. What's wrong with that?

It's just funny that's it's the exact inverse of what was ticking some people off.

Like Dan sat there and said:

"Well, if I can't ask for lists themselves, maybe I'll ask where movies would fall on lists. Genius!"

Yeah I've never made and all time list. Breaking it down by decade like we're doing is about as far as I'm willing to go. I don't even like ranking movies I only do that because of the voting formula.

Dan, Dazed and Confused won't make my top 20 90s list but I will say I do like the movie a lot. It was interesting when it came out. I was 14 a teenager myself and it was a teen movie about people that were teens in the mid to late 70s right around the time us current teens were being born. 70s nostalgia was in vogue in a big way in the 90s and had a fairly large influence on a lot of cinema at the time.

And yeah, it does have that pretty kick arse soundtrack. 70s rock is the best.

Lately the magnanimous one. I appreciate the more even-keeled tone.

There was a torch to carry, and a purpose to my posts, and if I must be an a-hole, so be it.

I love the movie, but it's not any where near the top of any of my lists, if I made lists of things like this.

Not totally. I made a jerk comment to somebody today on the OT for no reason other than to poke fun but that's the OT I think they kinda expect that there.

It is a really good move but it would probably be in my top 50. Maybe 48 or something.

Zellweger being credited for this always confused the frick outta me because I originally thought Joey Lauren Adams was her in the first place.

Renée Zellweger (Academy Award Winner)

She stole the show from everyone. But she should have anyway since she's a fricking ACADEMY AWARD WINNER.

FWIW Dan has actually created a couple of good threads in his shoot out thread and the Gene Hackman thread.
