Could Doctor Doom be built up like Thanos for the next Marvel movies?

Dr. Doom is one of the best villains Marvel has ever come up with; so if they could get the right actor, it seems like he could be built up over time.

A lot of the issues with the FF movies is that they almost immediately have them squaring off against Doom in a brawl, and instead I think he should be more of a manipulator for a lot of characters. Especially if it leads into a "Secret War" scenario (not the one with the Beyonder, but the one that was a covert mission by several heroes into Latveria)

No one will be built up like Thanos. Too many things that can't be repeated.

Example: Everyone knows that these type of individuals exist. Shock factor is gone

1. Why is everyone assuming Doom is the next villain?
2. How is some dude from Earth gonna rival Thanos? Bring on Galactus instead.

Because he is a very dynamic villain with a deep backstory.

Doom's schemes usually include ways of obtaining massive power (like stealing the Odinforce, at one point the Silver Surfer's power, another building a Destroyer-like armor, and on at least two occasions stealing the power of the Beyonders).

Galactus is awesome, but he is more of a force of nature. I think he could make a great 2-3 movie arc but not an all-encompassing one like Doom.

No. Doom will be an earth bound villain, like Ultron. Galactus will be built up like Thanos.
As for just pure character development, I have no doubt they can nail it.

Feige has already said that he has his plan set for the next phase, and it was set before the acquisition of Fox.

I always preferred Kang to Doom. Something based on the Avengers Forever mini series would make for several good movies.

Doom is an amazing villain but I just don't think he will ever translate to the big screen the way he day in print. He's so complex.

I just don't see how Galactus could ever be built up like Thanos. There's no personality there. Like someone said before, he's a force of nature, he needs to feed. That's it. If you are in his way he will consume you and that's it. Now, if someone attempts to capture Galactus and use his abilities for their own motivations, then we're on to something.

He is fine for a FF villain but not adequate for an existential threat typically. After Captain Marvel or Thor get paged Doom gets leveled.

Even the movie version of Scarlet Witch is probably too OP for Doom unless he steals the power of one of those three.

What about Onslaught? Annihilus? Magus? Legion? Kang? Morlun? High Evolutionary?

The way you build up someone like Doom is that you make it extremely personal. The MCU films have yet to build up a hero who gradually BECOMES the main villain, making it more painful for the heroes to have to take down someone who used to be a trusted friend.

That's why Grant Ward was such a GREAT villain in Agents of SHIELD.

I think Annihilus could be the next major villain. The Negative Zone and his general evilness will do well on the big screen.

The High Evolutionary is a maybe..You would have to do something with The Watcher and Galactus I would think.

What hurts DOOM is his over the top language and a Mask that shows only one face. He's a great character to read about because you can get into Doom's head.....With that said I would love to see a great Doom on Screen..

That can be solved with a "nanomask" (a mask that covers the face, but moves as if it's his actual face.

Barring that, you need an actor who is extremely good at conveying tone and emotion through just his eyes.

I don't want to come across like I don't want it to occur...I just don't want another butchering of a great villain.

Speaking of "butchering of a great villain", I'd like to see a non-Joss Whedon Ultron.

Uhhmmmm NO.

Doom is a Latverian..You need a person whose dialect is a little unconventional like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lanniester)...He would nail it. His Danish accent would work great
