Blumhouse Productions’ horror-thriller The Hunt will be released on March 13, seven months after the film was pulled from the schedule in reaction to criticisms by President Donald Trump.

In the movie, which stars Betty Gilpin, a group of liberal-minded people hunts conservatives for sport. The film was originally scheduled for release on Sept. 27 of last year but Universal pulled the film’s trailers and marketing materials following two mass shootings that killed 31 people in El, Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, on Aug. 3 and 4.

On Aug. 6, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that in the screenplay, one character refers to “slaughtering a dozen deplorables.” The phrase “basket of deplorables” was infamously used by Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election to refer to Trump supporters.

quote:

On Monday afternoon, Blumhouse founder Jason Blum and The Hunt co-writer Damon Lindelof spoke to journalists about Trump’s criticisms after a screening of the film in Los Angeles.

“My overwhelming feeling then was what it is now, which is that I wish that he had seen it,” said Lindelof, whose many other writing credits include the TV shows Lost and Watchmen. “The movie that he was talking about was not the movie that I feel that we made. It was the movie that it was being reported on.

So, if he had said, ‘This is a piece of s—, I’m sorry I wasted my time,’ that would have felt better because at least he was talking about the movie.”

On a different note, Sturgill Simpson is in this movie.

I guess Blumhouse is going to have two movies in theatres running concurrently. Isn’t that movie that most assuredly will flop about some island coming out like the week before this? That’s a bold move, Cotton

So basically soft gun control SJWs are "hunting" some baws? Yeah that wouldn't end well for them in real life.

Yeah it’s totally ridiculous. Although I’m fine with it coming out because I don’t believe that any form of art should be censored. The tough part is that if the roles were flipped, this movie would never come out.

You should at least check out the trailer first before judging. Looks like a lot of satire and the liberal elitists appear to be completely nuts. The protagonist is a conservative woman they shouldn't have fricked with.

Same here. I prefer the freedom to choose if I want to watch it or not.

This sorta movie was made back in the late 90's. It was called the last supper and was actually a fun to watch dark comedy.

For all you maga folks out there, watch it. You'll like the ending.

lmao political party has nothing to do with the movie. thats a fake synopsis in OP

quote:

Loosely based on the 1924 short story The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell,[6] the film follows 12 strangers who mysteriously wake up in a clearing.[2][7][8] They do not know where they are or how they got there. They discover that they have been chosen to be hunted in a game devised by a group of people from the rich elite.[2][9] The hunters gather in a remote facility called the Manor House, but their sport gets derailed when one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), fights back and starts killing them one by one.[10]

I'm ashamed to admit how many times I've watched that movie when I see it on TV.

And the "conservatives" rise up and kill the hunters.

The outrage over this is just another example of people just being NPCs. Some idiot made it political and everyone followed suit to melt about it.
