We should castrate those who watch The Big Bang Theory and kill those who watch 1600 Penn. It's vital for the success of our species.

I hate to say this but as a Community fan I found this episode quite boring. It had it's moments, but it's not the sort of episode that will gain new viewers.

Big Bang could shite the bed every week and still get 18
Million viewers. what a joke

I guess uneedmoore.
I thought it was one of those character progression episodes where we kind of catch up on how/why things are the way they are
Wasn't a raff out roud episode from beginning to end, but it had it's moments.
I also liked how they payed homage to the claymation Christmas episode using inspector space time as a vehicle. Maybe they were talking about this episode as well.
In community, I trust

I thought it was pretty good actually. I liked the progression of Troy and Abed falling apart, but then coming back together at the end. It was good stuff.
And it actually made me like Brita a little more. Kinda cool that she would get that into IST just because Troy loves it. Also, surprised nobody has mentioned how fricking smokin she looked in her bra/panties at the beginning of the episode. Great tits (google "gillian jacobs choke" to see them in all their glory) and a really nice arse to boot.

Am I one of the few people that actually love BOTH Community and Big Bang?
They're both smartly written comedies with heavy references to pop culture.

yeah, that's part of what i was talking about with the character progression, which i should have added /regression as well. i liked shirley (and i hate shirley) trying to undo what pierce was doing in the meeting for the american version of IST.
the troy and abed thing i can relate to. we've all been in both of their shoes with a close friend being pulled away, if only slightly, because of a relationship.
the regression i mentioned was annie. she and jeff are going to wind up together, but the whole ordeal with them calling her mrs winger setting her off, or at least how far she took it, was a bit childish, imo.

Definitely the worst part of the episode. It was weird watching and Jeff mentioned going skiing with Annie and then they were apparently sharing the hotel room. I was like "Wait, are they supposed to be together now?" It didn't make any sense. Jeff and Annie ending up together (if that does happen) sucks IMO.

Pretty sure they had two hotel rooms but both were in Jeff's name. Annie made a big ordeal with the hotel staff member who brought her a scotch that she and her "husband" had separate rooms and were working through some things.
I only bring the point up because Jeff and Annie are not together - though they're clearly pushing them that way - again.

So far this season has just made me really sad. The first episode just tried too hard, the second episode sat poorly with me for multiple reasons, and while this episode was better than both of those, it's still not up to par. I also really hate the constant thread of excluding Pierce. This show has a really dedicated fanbase that's pretty invested in keeping up with the show -- we all know Chase is a douche and ditched the show. It just feels like they are rubbing it in the viewers face for a few cheap laughs or to take shots at Chase.
It's not all bad, there are still moments where I laugh and the show reaches towards the level of greatness it once achieved with regularity, but it really has become a shadow of itself.
Am I the only one who feels like the dialogue and delivery is just off this season? Obviously I don't expect every character to channel their inner Daniel Day Lewis for every episode, but it just feels like the dialogue lacks that snappiness and fluidity that I enjoyed in the earlier seasons. And then there's the typical problem that plagues all shows as they progress, how the characters become caricatures of themselves. This had clearly begun to set in last season, but this season has only exacerbated it. It hate watching Troy get "Charlie'd" (It's Always Sunny reference).

Yeah, you may be right. That would definitely make more sense. Still don't like them being together though...Winger is much more awesome as the pretentious a-hole who bangs hunnies.

Nope, it definitely is happening. But it started before now.

I had the same reaction. With the big break between seasons, I started thinking if maybe I didn't remember them getting together at the end of last season.

Yeah, I think you're right, it's just gotten to the point where it's really hard to deny anymore. I'll fully admit that my love for the show made me reject most criticism of it for the first 3 seasons out of some pseudo, fan-based feeling of loyalty.

I feel like they are pushing too many "sad" storylines. Troy and Abed seperating, Annie and Abed getting sad that their time at Greendale is getting shorter, Pierce being lonely, etc. They need to get back to just having fun episodes that aren't heartfelt.

Allow me to clarify -- it's not the storylines, it's that the show has so clearly declined that makes me sad.

I know. I didn't even realize that I used the same word when writing out my post. They have too many downer story lines now.

I love both. But tune in to Community weekly since I am behind by a season on Big Bang. I also enjoy 1600 Penn. My TV basically stays on NBC on Thursday nights.
I enjoyed this episode as well, but I hope they get back into the community college in the coming weeks.
