I had never seen Community until it came available on Netflix last month. After a few episodes, I was hooked and couldn’t believe I missed this show. It’s fantastic

Now I’m finishing up Season 3 and the characters have developed into the most exaggerated version of themselves. Each trait that was fun and interesting is so over the top it’s absurd. And not absurd in a funny way. I find myself losing interest in episodes.

Does it continue to go this path in the next few seasons? Do the characters continue to become more unbelievable?

I'd skip all of Season 4 except for Basic Human Anatomy. Picks back up in season 5 though there are definitely some big changes in the last two seasons.

Go straight to 5. The 1st episode is titled Repilot. They kind of hit the reset button.

I remember not hating it too much when it aired, but when I went back for a re-watch, it just felt off. Only episode I cared for was the one Jim Rash wrote. Everything else just never hit the right tone for me.

The paintball episode may be one of the greatest tv show episodes of all time.

Everyone hates season 4 because everybody loves Dan Harmon and I get it, but six is easily the worst season. It’s not entirely their fault I mean three of their main characters were not on the show anymore

As creepy as it was, I was always kinda rooting for Jeff and Annie. They seemed to work well as a couple. Britta is just the worst and had no chemistry with Troy.

I too agree Season 6 is the worst. I kinda liked the cast in 5. I think 6 works if they had Hickey.

I think it’s mostly because Britta had been humbled from insufferable know-it-all by then, but hadn’t completely devolved into brainless buzz-kill yet. She had reached a point of sexy yet approachable that made her work as a character. That balance would never happen again.

I think part of the reason 4 was so bad was because of the Britta-Troy thing

They just half assed it. Got them together and then just kind of forgot about it and then broke them up when they remembered. It’s really weird.

Yeah I think you might be right about that. I never really understood why they brought on Frankie and Elroy so strong. I don’t mind either character being a part of the show, but they seem to be over used. I’m not sure why they had to force them into the main cast, instead of keeping them as side characters who contribute like Chang or the Dean (although the Dean clearly had an expanded role in season 6)
