It’s up if you want to watch it.

I planned to watch it tonight but got started with Murder Among Mormons so it may have to wait until tomorrow.

About to cut it on now. Despite expecting a total piece of crap

I simply don't understand the hype this film is getting.

It's more just awareness hype. Eddie Murphy has a sequel coming out to a beloved classic. People are excited to see it.
In terms of critical hype, it doesn't exist. C2A has a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first one was a classic. I can't count how many one liners from that movie were circulated into our conversations among my buddies back in high school when it came out. It is up there on the same pedestal for me as Harlem Nights.

Seems pretty good for a comedy sequel 33 years later.

lol at Paramount selling it to Amazon instead of using it to kick off Paramount Plus.

Have you even seen the trailer?
No chance it's close to mediocre.

Probably doesn’t fit the programming mold

Don’t worry Paramount is evidently using the new SpongeBob movie as their kickoff movie, it almost come to blows with my 8 year old son this afternoon because we wouldn’t spend $20 to rent a movie for 48 hours.

Just sign up for the 7 day free trial of P+ and cancel it when you're done

Just watched it. Probably not a “good” movie, but had some fun parts and plenty of throwbacks to the original (which I loved). The musical bits were the best: what’s better than Morgan Freeman introducing Salt n’ Pepa at a funeral? As an aside - how many of these people made deals with the devil to barely age over 30 years? Eddie, Arsenio, and Shari Headley still look great. Yeah, the story was weak but I was smiling through the whole thing.

Have that nostalgic excitement right now ready to watch it but half of me sort wants to give it a pass...
That's the problem with nostalgia, you know you're going to be disappointed in a film because nothing lives up to what you loved in childhood.
