I'd imagine its done because the loop draws decent numbers on a slow day, not because TBS thinks its the greatest movie of all time bap.

that doesnt matter. people have made it part of their tradition and have therefore overrated the movie. TBS's motivation behind it really has no bearing over the fact that it has become overrated.

a lot of people put it on during christmas solely because its now been ingrained as tradition, not because they think the movie is great.

thats the definition of something being overrated.

it is the most widely beloved Christmas movie by a LOOOOOOONG LOOOOOOONG gap. The reason its played on a 24 hour loop is because it is so ingrained in the hearts of our people it has transcended the fact that it is a movie.

I have seen it probably 800 times in my life and I still laugh out loud all throughout the movie

Ralphie gets on my nerves to the utmost. I'm in the minority, but I despise that movie.

I used to love Christmas Story but I have grown tired of it. Xmas Vacation is my favorite Christmas movie by a long shot.
