Thus far, I don't see how you couldn't like Chris Pratt.

Gonna be a damn shame when they find him with a dead hooker and a kilo of blow hidden in his trunk.

Theres a really funny interview with Anna Faris on Chris' hulking out over the past few years.

It seems like his peak role should have been the sidekick in a romantic comedy. He is somewhat funny, but never the funniest guy in a movie

I kind of agree. It just feels like he blew up a lot faster than his pedigree necessarily suggests he should have. He's very likable, but it seemed like he went from a decent "lovable idiot" character on Parks and Rec to being Hollywood's next big thing overnight

I read one article and I think he made a joke about it on Parks also about losing weight. He pretty much said "I stopped drinking beer daily"

I'm only on season 6 of the show but so far that's the only reference they have made to his weight loss

I've liked him in Parks & Rec and Zero Dark Thirty.

With that being said, I don't think he should have taken the Jurassic World film. I think that will be lackluster.

Yeah, someone then asked how much he was drinking and he said, "apparently too much."

For Chris, that's probably one of those roles you can't turn down, no matter how good or bad the movie will be. Similar to if you were offered a major role in one of the new Star Wars movies. I can see Jurassic Park being one of his favorite movies growing up.

Unless the script was pure Satan shite, it would be difficult for him to assess that a major studio movie with the Jurassic Park franchise attached would be anything other than a big time moneymaker that could establish his career as a major blockbuster actor. He probably signed up before he knew how big GotG would be.

He's an avid bowhunter so he's cool with me. Plus he's pretty damn funny and doesn't take fame to seriously.

What am I missing? He seems to be very average and is somehow landing lead roles in these major blockbuster movies.

I am with you. I don't get it. He is hilarious as the mentally retarded Andy on Parks and Rec. He also did a great job in a similar role as the lead in the Lego Movie. But I did not like him in Guardians at all and have been far from impressed with him from what I have seen of Jurassic Park. I really hope they don't make him the next Indiana Jones as it is rumored.

the Hollywood machine is squeezing all the juice they can out of him, i'd prefer him over more Nicolas Cage who never ever turns down a script.

I have never read the comic so I don't know what Starlord is supposed to be like. I did not like the character portrayed by Pratt. He was not charismatic or funny. He was not a leader either. I couldn't buy into it. If that is how Starlord is supposed to be, then I guess that is just a property I can't enjoy.

I don't much like Andy Dwyer (though I enjoy him a lot more now that he's married to Aubrey Plaza on the show... they play off each other real well). He's just the loveable loser type on a show that is real good at defying stock characters, or giving them surprising depth. It took awhile for Andy's to come out.

that said, he's been great in movies. He's picked roles well, and he just seems to be having a good time. He's not Olivier or anything, but he's not trying to be. He picks fun scripts and then has a good time. Right now, he's rightly getting by on his natural charisma.

Besides, dance off.
