HBO was running a Game of Thrones marathon a short time ago and many of those characters at times were both heroes and villains. That got me to thinking if this would be a good thread. Why not.
So, in movies and TV, what are the most memorable characters that were both a hero and villain.
NOTE: Pro wrestling characters don't count
I'm only going to select one GOT Character and my offering to start this thread is The Hound:

Walter White.
Of course you can say he evolved over time from hero to villain, but I still found myself hoping he'd win out.
Vic Mackey
Nucky Thompson
Thomas Shelby
A lot of organized crime character types.

Tony Stark.
Sure he made the ultimate sacrifice in the end, but god damn he was at least indirectly responsible for 90% of the shite the world went through in that story arc.

I would actually say Paul Newman's character fits that description a bit better.

What's hero about Paul Newman in that movie though? I don't really see any redeeming qualities in him, especially as the movie goes on. Unless you consider protecting your child no matter what they do/did as him being heroic
