The second swing seemed to be there only so that they would hit the water slowly instead of hard.
Which means it was really there so that they would try to grab it and miss and land awkwardly for TV ratings. It was a swimming challenge with a twist designed to embarrass them.
And all it really did was reinforce stereotypes.

Was watching the youtube video with Kenny and Wes's confrontations...has Kenny ever actually backed up his talk with Wes or anyone else, that is, has he ever actually thrown down?

He nor Wes have. They always talk shite but never back it up.
CT& Darrell are the only ones who can talk shite because they will actually punch someone in the face.
Bannas is probably the biggest pussy of them all. He talks so much shite yet has never actually been man enough to throw down.

CT choked out Kenny with a rnc and wouldn't let go. He then punched a sleeping Davis in the face for no reason.

Agreed.
Also, it seemed like it was designed terribly as well, because even the best starts still resulted in the swing being turned damn near 90 degrees by the time it hit the second swing. I don't know what kept causing that, but it was annoying to watch. I mean, several groups got off the platform perfectly, and by the time they were at the second swing, only one person was in position to grab the second swing.
That was bullshite, and I'd have been pissed if I were on the show. Like you said, it was basically designed to not work and have them bust arse.

Because they didn't have their weight equilibrium on the center-point of the bar. And you think any of them realize that? So yeah, again, designed to fail and have them bust their arse.
It might as well have been a high-dive and swim... that could have been funny.

Been listening to the AfterBuzz podcast. The girl that hosts it can be annoying at times, but every week they have a least two current or former challenge members. Last week they had Frank and Jordan on. This week they had Nehamiah (who is a frequent guest) and Trey from this season. They tell you a lot if times about stuff they don't show on the TV. This week they both said they think the producers choose the elimination challenge based on who is going in and who they want to stay around.
