Really sad if not too surprising. Can't be easy for someone that age to go through losing their child.

She wasn't just out of high school. she dropped out of high school in 1973 because she was in a stage show with her mother. After that she did theater/acting training for 18 months in England.
She didn't start working on Star Wars until 1976-1977, 3 years AFTER dropping out of high school. She auditioned for the role when she was 19.
At least try and get some of your facts right if you are going to try and be "that guy".
Tell it to MSNBC.
That's where I got the info.

Meh,
He chose to tell it to the person who claimed to know what they were talking about, which you clearly did not.
Pop culture is an easy thing to be wrong about, but blaming your ignorance on cable news is one of the lamest cop outs I have seen.

Gee, do you think Carrie got the role in the stage show because she was a great actress or because her mother was Debbie Reynolds?

Who gives a frick if she got her role because she was part of a Hollywood family? Half of landing a role in Hollywood is who you or your agent knows anyway. It's rarely landed on talent alone.
All I care about is that she became an iconic actress and mental health advocate because of her part in those movies. She did well for herself and was one of the first female action role models around. She kicked arse. And she'll be missed.

I watched her audition with Ford. She may have fricked a producer but she got that part because of her acting

Back in the 70s was when the feminists forced Hollywood to start having woman roles where the woman kicked arse to teach little girls they are not the weaker sex.
She was one of the first.

Yeah, go frick yourself. Her mother just followed her to the grave in a day with her final words being "I want to be with Carrie".
But you still judge her for being a drug addict and bipolar (BTW a condition you're born with and don't choose), getting some help from her mother in her career, and then goes onto help others with drug addiction and mental illness.
You're truly fricked in the head, much more than she was. Eat shite.

I was told this was caused by Millenials

Of course Carrie's mother loved her but that has nothing to do with the fact Carrie was a lousy actress and not such a great person that we had to be subjected to a week of being told what a wonderful actress she was.
Now go play with your Princess Leia doll.

You were told wrong.
Since the 70s, there is hardly ever a movie where the leading lady isn't a strong, independent, kick men in the balls bitch.

If you are so sure then name a movie where the leading lady isn't a strong, independent, kick men in the balls bitch.
Let's start with Alien.

Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom,
That was easy. I'll wait for your excuse.

Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom,
She was in 4 or 5 fairly big movies over a year and a half, then dropped off the face of the earth to frick Spielberg or whoever she was married to I guess.
I kinda dug her.

According to Wikipedia,
quote:
She met film director and future husband Steven Spielberg upon winning the female lead as Willie Scott, a spoiled and stubborn sexy[citation needed] American night-club singer
She played a stubborn woman who wouldn't take anyone's advice including a man's.
If you listed the top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy movies from the 70s until now, I wouldn't doubt that the leading lady in 99% of them was under 100 pounds but kicked the arse of every 200 pound Alpha male who fricked with her.

Kate Capshaw does not fit this description.
Sarah Conner in the original terminator
The princess bride
Back to the future
Iron man

Obviously you don't since you posted at 11:10 PM.
Don't worry, you may no longer have Princess Leia but in the new year you will have Wonder Woman to idolize because she can kick every Alpha male's arse.
