-She was nominated for two Emmy's
-Is supposedly very good in the Amazon show Catastrophe
-Countless other tv appearances
-Known for her roles in Shampoo, The Blues Brothers, When Harry Met Sally, The Burbs, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Thats not counting her writing credits, or her works as an author.

She had already been in another movie before this called "shampoo".
She wasn't just out of high school. she dropped out of high school in 1973 because she was in a stage show with her mother. After that she did theater/acting training for 18 months in England.
She didn't start working on Star Wars until 1976-1977, 3 years AFTER dropping out of high school. She auditioned for the role when she was 19.
At least try and get some of your facts right if you are going to try and be "that guy".
