Of almost flawless execution across multiple characters. Multiple story lines. She is their absolute worst. The acting of Brie Larson shows no empathy. Her lines are awful. The acting is worse.

Did Weinstein cast her?

She's the worst character they have but I guess in her defense, Marvel's floor is pretty high.

With that being said, Captain Marvel was easily the most forgettable in the Infinity Saga and yes, I'm including IM3 and Thor 2.

I don’t know what it is. I didn’t like Captain Marvel but it was tolerable. Her depiction in Endgame was just absolutely absurd. No empathy. This whirl of emotions and she drops in…and is a complete B****.

Then they completed her Karen look by cutting their hair. What terrible acting and a terrible character. Then she is supposed to be the most powerful? Just garbage all the way around.

Her character gets a lot of flack, but maybe I'm alone in that I actually liked her movie

Like I said, it was tolerable. I’m not sure if it’s the acting or the just the writing. She gives me Skylar White level vibes. They are in the top 3 worst female characters for me, along with the mom from Six Feet Under.

It was good but nowhere near as exciting as the rest of the movies

She has two facial expressions; kinda angry, and mildly amused.

It wasn't terrible but not great. Most of the hate is just overblown because the MTV board is still triggered over her comments she said years ago

writing

Biggest problem right here, Brie is a good actor but the writing for the movie wasn't very good. My hope is she gets an arc similar to Thor considering he was pretty cocky to start as well

Larson was a terrible casting decision.

It's a poorly kept secret that none of her castmates can stand her. The interviews from Endgame press tour are painfully funny.

Now, the fact the character is terrible is primarily the fault of the writer and director - being a boring Mary Sue can't be fixed by acting ability (although she hasn't shown much in the way of acting ability to this point a la Kristen Stewart).

I guess when i look at how she was portrayed as a brain washed human and told she was an alien, and had no recollection of how a human acted (she was controlled by the Kree AI), i guess i can see how she played the character.

and as for the hair style in the last movie - that was a direct copy of her look in the comics currently, so again - kinda accurate to the books. in fact i do not remember her being bubbly our really outgoing in the comics either.

Iron Man sequels, Thor Darkworlds, and Black Panther were all pretty forgettable and uninteresting to me as anything other than cgi expositions. I give a slight edge to Captain Marvel because of the Kree/Skull introductions, although that wasn't written very well. But having Jude Law and Samuel L. should give Captain Marvel a little edge.

Part of that could be the direction as well - very few actors get to 100% dictate how their characters act on screen.

That's not specifically a defense of Brie Larson, just an observation that people often forget when judging acting performances.

She was good in her role on Scott Pilgrim, was admittedly was sexy AF. It's hard to see her now and look back then and see the same actress; hell, look at her interviews when she was younger. She was way more charismatic back then.

I can't tell if she kept hearing her own hype and got full of herself, or kept getting shite on to the point of just hating nearly everyone, or some combination of the two.

That makes sense in Captain Marvel, but doesn't really explain why she's still like that in Endgame after she has her memories back and has had years to acclimate to them.

Yep. There's a reason they're bringing in a new director for the sequel

Rumors that (clickbait sites so I haven't linked them) that the "Marvels" movie will introduce the new characters and move Brie out of the MCU or at least back to cameo status.
