I think in the spirit of civil war, it should only be Marvel fanboys arguing in this thread.
Or we could just rename it the "Lets rehash BvS once more" thread.

Captain America: Civil War Tomato Watch | 100% (14 Fresh 0 Rotten 8.8 avg)
quote:
Did you watch the movie? Krypton had a different atmosphere than our own. It wasn't the same kind of planet as our own. Hence the World Engine.
It also made it abundantly clear this was simply a temporary inconvenience. They just needed to adjust. I don't think you can use a few minutes of pain to justify killing literally everyone.
Okay let's say he decided not to kill the people of Earth. Let's say he decided to rebuild Krypton on Earth without terraforming. So you start to engineer your society and now you are bringing in new superbeings by the thousands. How long do you expect to be able to maintain order when you are literally developing thousands and thousands of challengers each day? He was terraforming because he had to. His purpose was to ensure the survival of Krypton. You can't do that unless you have a new Krypton to do so.
quote:
First off he only manipulated the atmosphere and not the Sun. Unless Zod was going after the Sun next to make it more like Kryptons, then they would still have super powers.
It wasn't just the sun, it was our atmosphere and our gravitational pull as well. They expressly said that they were changing our core right after they turned the World Engine on.
quote:
But every iteration up to this point had Zod having a massive God complex.
No they hadn't. The only consistent fiber in his iterations is that he believes that Krypton has not lived up to its potential and that it's wasting in squalor and bureaucracy. This was actually his reasoning behind his attempted coup in the beginning of Man of Steel. He felt that the elders were not fit enough to lead their society as their planet was on the brink of extinction and that they needed new leadership. Again, his purpose was to ensure their survival, and from a certain point of view, you can argue that he took the necessary steps to ensure that survival, but that's not the point.

It's okay, I'll read the Tomatometer whenever I need your opinion on a movie. Or ask a 4 year old eating glue. They'll make more sense.
But yes back to Civil War...

I'm pretty sure I know whose alter it is. A recurring one we haven't seen in a while.

BVS SPOILERS.......
Where's a smile?
Jesus Christ, dude. Don't except whatever garbage DC throws at you. We deserve better than this.
quote:Batman used both of his tactics that easily failed quickly. He then proceeded to attack him. He says to Lois prior to the fight "I have to try to convince him to help, or he has to die." It was a pretty bizarre iteration.
It's not like Batman was there waiting for him with a table and glass of wine for them to discuss their issues over.
quote:He had ample opportunity. He crashes him through a building BEFORE the kryptonite.
Once it started there was really never any opportunity to explain what was going on until his boot was on his throat and he was making a last second plea for his mother's life.
quote:You are the one reaching my friend.
This is an extreme reach.
quote:Did you? Because I said "bullet"? Nice swerve.
Do what? Did you even watch the movie?
quote:Why couldn't Superman hold him again like he did with the nuke? Because he had to die. Snyder said so. So Bruce Wayne could find the JL. Very contrived.
And who else was going to use the spear? Wonder Woman was already throwing down with Doomsday
quote:
Wow you haven't watched either movie have you?
Where's a smile?
quote:Yep. Those are ALL villains.
Well for one, he's not a person. Two, history is full of men who have tried to conquer the whole world. Genghis Khan, Alexander, Hitler, etc. Men with power tend to only want one thing: more power.
quote:Jesus? Are those the characteristics of an intelligent person? Is that the "smart" thing to do.
What Batman saw was a possible future, right? That means the death of either Lois or Martha pisses him off enough to fricking turn the world into the Apocalypse. Really that's pretty stupid in itself. That shows a very high level of unintelligence to let something like that cause you to fricking destroy the world.
Jesus dude.

quote:Well, you defended your idiocy with yet more idiocy. Congratulations.
You can't even defend your own idiocy.

I don't know. I'm just saying Superman is mostly whining, sad, or mad in BvS. He said "did you see the movie?" as if to imply that he's happy in the movie I guess? I was showing moments where he's anything but. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. For every time Superman smiles in BvS, there's probably five shots of him doing the opposite. Superman is just not happy in the movie. Some people like that. That's cool. But nobody can say he's happy.

Yes, but that was the point. To show how he is human even though an alien.
I haven't been following the convo honestly

I still like Man of Steel. I never said anything against that movie. Just because a sequel is bad, doesn't mean the original doesn't do things better. My points are strictly related to BvS.
