This isn't the first time he's gotten snockered and acted the fool with Hank -- aka the kid pukin' episode.

Walt's a big blabbermouth when intoxicated. He confirmed the second cell phone when he was drugged out pre-op. He almost revealed the secret about Jane in "Fly" after Jesse gave him the sleeping pills. This, plus his inferiority/got screwed complex and Heisenberg recklessness made it pretty obvious he wasn't going to accept the gift Hank was unwittingly trying to give him. Now this would have been a good time for Skyler to (literally) grab his balls and squeeze.

It'll be interesting to see where they go with Heisenberg. His power is on the wane. He can't get near Gus, and when he tries, he's always being watched. Now Mike is making Jesse his helper, without even consulting Walt, and that's going to be freaking him out more and more. And it ain't good that Walter is always banging on the door of Jesse's house and storming into Los Pollos wanting to kill his boss. Talk about connecting the dots. Basically Walt is acting like more of an uncontrollable hothead than Jesse.

Perfect ending to show or at least the season:

Jesse gains more and more trust with Gus, until the point where Gus offers Walt's job to him. Not only does he know the whole recipe, but Jesse has never been extremely loyal to Walt when it comes to looking out for each other.

Seeing the kid who always fricked things up for Walt, finally take his job would be a great ending IMO. Jesse kills Walt in the end..

Correct, but if I can remember correctly at all, Jesse's livelihood and life is pretty dependent on Walt. Jesse knows this and Walt tells him this constantly.

At any point in the future I wouldn't be surprised if Jesse betrayed Walt.

Walt and Jesse have a lot of co-dependency issues.

I think this has already started. Did you notice the way Jesse took charge and told Walt to get to work at the end of last night's show? Walt may figure that Jesse is being groomed to be his replacement.

Walt's increasing paranoia is going to make for some entertaining television!

So was the ride along a test for Jessie? To see how he would react when they were at the last pickup? I'm not sure what Gus has in store for Jessie.

More like a set up to me, Gus is going to let Jesse get some power and take over some of the business end of the meth operation and try to let the cartel take Jesse out, make it look like an incident, but what Gus has planned since the Gale incident. However, I think this fails and Hank ends up saving Jesse.

Why would Gus do this? He doesn't need the cartel to "take Jesse out."

To keep Walt making Meth. I think he made it clear him and Jesse are a package deal, without Jesse, Walt stops.

Walt is a silly frick, he just couldn't overlook Hank's glowing thoughts of Gale being Heisenberger. He might as well turn himself in soon because if Hank can't figure out that it's Walt cooking shite than he has no brains, and we know that's not true!

all that rambling about Gale's notes being something of a first graders or something, I mean I would be staring at the idiot like, ok, my fricking brother-in-law is the fricking Heinz like Hank was doing!

I think the whole thing was just to get Jesse to snap out of his funk. They knew it was dragging down the operation and needed something to wake him the frick up, so put him in a high adrenaline situation, make him the hero and he's done feeling worthless.

+1

As Mike reiterated to Gus, "you got your wish, he looked like the hero"
This was a trick by Gus to make Jesse feel empowered.

They could easily kill him. I think Gus sees something in Jesse he likes and respects, and believe he saw this when Jesse stood up to him at the chicken farm.

I kind of agree with y'all's theory on Gus's plan with Jesse.Mike made it clear that he's not happy about it.
"Let's get this clear. You're not the man.Now sit in the car and shut up."Mike to Jesse.
I assumed he was referring to Victor as the partner he used to have.Walt and Jesse have created many messes for Mike to clean up.I think he'd like to put a bullet between Jesse's eyes.I think he empathizes more with Walt because of their age and Walt's baby girl.
