Also it was established that Gus had a connection with madrigal which was from Germany but I cant remember if we know how this connection was formed? Did we find that out and I just don't remember?

Never fully established other than Lydia telling Walt that she was Gus' methlamine supplier.

Rewatched Ozymandius last night and caught a line by Uncle Jack I had missed before when Kenny questions giving Walter a barrel/$10 million. He says something like: "All this greed... it's so unattractive." Makes me wonder about the motivation of a lot of characters in the show in terms of always wanting more money.
Gus, in particular, has fourteen Pollos Hermanos franchises throughout the Southwest. Perhaps his position as meth kingpin helps him in his revenge against the Cartel but, for a man as cautious as Gus, I have to wonder how much money is enough? Surely his net worth is in the tens of millions at the time of the show. Why not just... operate your chicken franchises and enjoy your money (and put a few hits out on the cartel for fun)?
I also thought about a better way Walt could have gotten out/laundered his money: could have opened up a coffee franchise with Gale as they worked on creating the perfect cup of coffee! Obviously that wouldn't make for a very entertaining show, though.
