Is it one of the best movies made or no?

I haven't seen it yet but am going to watch it later on today.

It's over the top, gratuitously violent, historically inaccurate schlock.

And I loved it.

Nonetheless, it is one of the all time great movies. No one claimed it was a documentary!

I do think a better criticism of Braveheart is one that goes something like: "Oh no, there goes Mel Gibson, playing the same character again..." Reluctant hero, forced to fight. Takes a lot of abuse. Ultimately, has a Popeye moment (That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more!) and goes on the attack against great odds.

Top 10, maybe 5 if I hadn't gotten so burnt out on it by watching it One Hundred times (at least).

I remember seeing clips on an entertainment show back before it came out and I thought Mel looked stupid as crap with the blue paint.

Thought the whole thing looked real bad.

He proved me seriously wrong with my assumptions which did make an arse out of me.

Great movie, great score.

Used to be on HBO like 40 times a day back in 97.
