There were a ton of Bozos. The one I remember was on WGN in the eighties.

I used to love watching them try to ring those buckets with the ping pong balls.

RIP in peace Bozo! The grand prize game was the greatest of all time games of throwing a ping pong ball into buckets from various distances.

Didn't Bozo the Clown die in 1998 or around that time?

The bozo that we 80s kids remmeber was based out of Chicago and had the show on WGN in the mornings. That guy died like 20 yrs ago.

This Bozo that just died was a guy out of Boston. Apparently there were like 50 Bozos all over the country, every region kind of had one. I think he was based on and old circus act and everybody kind of ripped off the act

I swear, they paid those kids to miss with those ping pong balls. I was born in '75, so I was around 10ish when this came on and my mom would get so mad because I would be in there yelling "Oh my God, you SUCK at the TV."

Me too. God this used to piss me off. I used to lose my shite when someone made it all the way to bucket #5.

The best was when some goober couldn’t even drop it in the first bucket correctly.

They would also give out the weather report so I would go grab a heavy coat when Bozo said it would be 40 degrees outside even though it was 70 and sunny in Houston.

Nobody has mentioned the kid who was acting up and Bozo said: "That's a Bozo no-no and you don't get any prize" to which the kid quickly responded with: "Cram it Clown!"

Yeah, I thought he died like 20 years ago, thanks to this amazing joke by Norm MacDonald:

quote:

Well, a sad story from the world of entertainment this week. Actor Bob Bell, better known to millions as Bozo the Clown, has died at the age of seventy-five. Commenting on his passing, President Clinton said, quote, "You know, for fifty thousand dollars, he can be buried next to JFK."

There were a couple of arcades in my hometown that had Bozo-branded "grand prize game" setups with the buckets and all. You won and increasingly number of tickets each time you got a ping pong ball in the buckets.

Yeah, the show was gold. No delays back in that time period, so they were flying without a net. This was on the WGN Bozo show. About once a week, you'd get some smart arse on there Bozo had to deal with.

"You're hung up on a clown from the 60's, man!"

Watched that episode the other day. Never realized the clown was played by Jon Favreau. RIP Bozo.
