I caught part of this on BET last night. I haven't seen it in a long time. I think it's a classic...a great movie. Do you agree?

You read IMDB way too fricking much. But to answer your question, it is a fantastic movie and Ice Cube really pulls out a very human and sympathetic performance.

@ introducing Chris Tucker as Gangster #3. That's not worth the introducing tag.

Except for Poetic Justice.

Higher Learning does not suck. Shaft isn't the greatest, but it's one of my favorite Bale performances.

The Shaft remake was a travesty to the Gordon Parks original.

Definitely top 10. It is without a doubt the greatest unintentional comedy of all time. My sophomore year in college, they showed it repeatedly on our free cable station and we had picked apart every single line of dialogue for maximum humor.

Seriously, how can you not like a movie where one of the main characters says - at his CELEBRATE GETTING OUT OF JAIL PARTY - the line "I ain't no criminal - I can read, bitch!".

Another aspect I love is how hopelessly lost the message of the movie was on it's target audience. Kind of like Menace II Society. I saw that in the theater and when the main character was committing unspeakable acts of violence on innocent people, the "natives" in the audience were shrieking with delight and yelling out things like "he showed that mutha fricka who was boss!".

Morris Chestnut as Ricky

I was watching something last year either about N.W.A.(or maybe about Ice Cube) or it may have been about the movie itself and it was saying that Singleton wanted Eazy E in it
