I think it is a classic. Mostly in the respect that it was really the first of this genre of movies. Many movies tried to copy it over the next few years. Menace II Society, Baby Boy, etc. It was like Nirvana just happened to be the first grunge band that got a big hit. Even without Smells Like Teen Spirit, grunge was coming anyway.

It is still the best out of those types of movies though. I just think had it been released 2 or 3 years later, it would have just blended in. It did have a great cast going for it though.

Boyz n the Hood: Great movie or Greatest movie?

I really did like this movie. I watch it on occasion.
