Imagine letting a program that turns your guilt against you loose on the Baptist community. It would wipe out the better part of the South in one night!

Spoiler Warning!

Am I clear to ask questions about Episode 3? Was the kid a pervert?

***season 3 ep 3 spoilers*****

Yes, the teenager in the story (forgot his name) turned out to be looking at child pornography, just like the guy he has to fight to the death. That twist made me realize the blackmailers were actually the good guys.

I guess I never saw the kid or others as the good guys to begin with. I didn't care what happened to them, and I assumed the hackers would betray them regardless.

So to go to San Junipero. I think it ties in perfect. It's a great story that deals with people's concerns over death. How would people react to being able to live eternally stored in some database? The story and and the ideas are great but to me and like you've mentioned, rewatching it a second time makes you realize how great the storyline works. You don't understand what's happening until halfway through the episode. Watch it again and it all fits perfectly.

It is also the first time they brought up religion. The implications of going to SJ mean that you have given up hope on a "normal" afterlife.

I love how they built the world this season. The devices started as a video game tool, then a tool to help dying people and eventually take over the world.

It was pretty clear the episode was made for you to feel for the people being toyed with by the texters. But then when it turns out that each person involved was being fricked with for a reason, that's the twist. I did have a problem with some of it, like I couldn't tell if Bronn was trying to hook up with a child hooker or just a hooker, but either way if he was just cheating with hookers then who cares. The pedophile stuff, okay I can see that. But like the dude cheating on his wife or the lady who sent a racist email, that's no reason to anonymously ruin someone's life.

The episode had a pretty White Bear feel to it, which was cool.

I thought it was a really cool concept. The whole thing from the bees "reproducing" in the hives with 3D printers, to the hashtags, to the twist at the end. But I thought the story could've been told in a normal 60 minute episode instead of a 90 minute season ending special. I would've liked to see something more mind-blowing for the 90 minute episode. In that lone aspect it was a little disappointing.

Does anybody know why Netflix starts you off with season 3? I realize it doesn't matter because it's episodic stories, but I thought it was weird.

I know that but this isn't the first series that started on another network, or even on an another international network (trailer park boys), and I've never seen them do that before. Just seems weird to start off at the back and work your way to the beginning.

I know the stories are episodic, but only after I watched season 3 and got into season 2 did I realize there were Easter eggs I missed because Netflix didn't start me off on season 1.

Can I ask what they are?

All I know of is the song. And then the other thing I commented on before, the optical computer that many episodes seem to use.

What else?

Somebody posted this in this thread. Said somebody on Reddit compiled all connections.

I haven't read it yet because I haven't watched all of season 1 yet. I feel like I'm going to have to rewatch from the beginning though. Not that I'll mind, I already rewatched White Bear once because I was so blown away by the ending I had to share with somebody.

ETA:

That's another one. In the episode with the bees Blue mentions she moved units because the case from White Bear sickened her so much.

Watched Black Mirror for the first time a couple of nights ago. "Nosedive" was my introduction, and I was impressed.

Decided to go to the beginning and watch the first episode. Was a little disturbed. But, I got the point of it, and decided to keep going and watched a couple more episodes.

Been "meh" ever since Nosedive. Maybe I started with too good a first impression?

Should I continue watching chronologically, or just watch the best episodes mentioned here?

No.

If you're already iffy on the series (watching S1E1 can do that, since it sucks) you need to go for the heavy hitters.

White Christmas (IMO the best of the entire series) and Entire History of You need to be watched next for you. the episodes dont' continue storylines/arcs/characters/plots so you can skip around at your leisure. Watch the 2 I mentioned (EHOY is shorter so if time is an issue go that one first) and see if you like it. If you aren't feeling it after those 2 then the show just isn't for you.

All I have left is the finale of Season 3 and I don't see how you can call any of the episodes garbage.

Even at it's weakest, I think the show delivers

I disagree....although I did watch it the night before the election so it resonated with me.
