That Production Paul edit was amazingly awful. They could take the time to reshow a day 13 clip of Cody talking possible strategies with Matt, but couldn't bother to show the clips of Raven pouring coke/hiding Alex's ears when during the fight? Completely lopsided bullshite, then a luck based compete at the end. frick that.

Julie Chen is such a hack for going on her talk show everyday to talk about "real issues" then completely ignores it when these very issues happen in the game she hosts. She deserves just as much backlash as anyone else.

I think this cast is terrible but everyone complaining about TV game show editing and desperately wanting to show people in a bad light to hopefully ruin their lives is some sjw type bull shite.

Yes paul got serious help from production this season but everyone in here is acting like Jessica and Cody didn't get big time production assistance. Paul got the one week safety bracelets and then the stupid three weeks of safety garbage. Jessica's "hex" to keep them in the game is a result of another stupid twist and interference by production. Cody after getting kicked out the house was allowed to battle back in which is another assistance by production to even have a chance to get back in the house.

The anger over this game on this board sounds irrational

Plus people are mad that the HOH competition was a game of chance and not strictly geared to give Cody the best shot to win. Wtf, now you WANT production interference?

Paul to Christmas- I think it would be better to put Jessica and Alex up there (so Alex plays for veto)

If that's the case then I hope Mark wins temp comp and Cody gets picked and wins veto

Like others I think I'm gonna take a break on this season for a while. I'll definitely still record, and will certainly keep reading this thread, but won't make it appointment must-see TV anymore and if I miss it oh well. I watch for the entertainment adn the gameplay, that's it. I dont' care about zany characters or hashtags, I like seeing people scheme and make moves and how alliances form and shift. These next several weeks are just going to be the same ol same ol; Paul telling everyone what to do and 10 people ganging up on 2 who are only trying ot keep to themselves, until finally they're both out of the house. What's the point of even watching right now?

Not to mention, aside from the fact we all know what's going to happen, I legitimately hate this cast as people more than any other season and I NEVER thought I'd say that. In 15 Amanda/andy were up there. I hated frankie. I've disliked many cast members. But the absolute mob/sheep mentality of jsut abotu every one of these fricks, and ringleader paul who I despise, and to top it all off they all have wool over their eyes about what's really happening. They have convincned themselves THEY are the good ones and Jody are "bad". And when finally the 10 have gotten the 2 out (real tough work there guys) they will pat themselves on the back and say "finally! We did it...now there's no more bullies and we can all feel safe again". It legitimately makes me angry that they feel that way, and I don't want to spend any more time watching these delusional sociopaths.

Fair points, but I don't think it's really about showing Paul in a bad light but more showing the true events in the house. They spent almost half the show building up drama over Jess maybe not using the Hex because of Paul's machinations. That whole sequence in real time was only a few hours. Then they completely glossed over Paul's machinations on rallying his side to engage in psychological warfare in an attempt to get Cody or Jess to self-evict. They made it look like that was just in response to the fight they all had with Jess and not a calculated strategy. It was blatant dishonesty, but it's something I'm used to with this show. Not sure why I let it bother me every goddamn summer.

It's pretty reasonable to want a comp that's not completely luck-based. A mental or physical comp is much more fair. You can control your own destiny more in those comps. This one was closer to picking names out of a hat than a physical or mental comp

I am not defending CBS but I think there were a lot of things that happened that it is hard to show every angle especially when you only have a one hour episode which includes a competition and an eviction ceremony.
But on the other hand, I also saw all the fighting/scheming and definitely think CBS didn't show the true side of it all.

I did like Matt's DR about how this wasn't a good look.

All in all, they all suck. I watch every summer and it is really the first time I haven't picked someone that I was rooting for. These people are trashy people.

99% of these competitions at this point each year are variations of the same competitions they have in other seasons. HOH comps have always mixed mental games, endurance games and luck of chance games. I think last night was just where the luck of chance game fell.
I don't think that was a production scheme.

I'm about to sound a little conspiracy theorist, but I believe Paul won afp by a large amount last year. CBS executives thought Paul should have won. Which, he probably should have. So they brought him back this year gave him 3 weeks safety. But the biggest thing they did was, based on personality test, cast 13 follows and 3
or 4 leaders . Paul, Cody, and Alex/xmas were supposed to be the leaders. They knew Cody was anti Paul. He said his least favorite Big Brother player of all time was Paul. And they needed someone like that. What they did not anticipate was Alex and Xmas following Paul too. Then let Paul give out safety bracelets to the followers. Now they worship him.

I understand that, but they flashed back to showing Cody basically lying about Jessica being put up. Twice! But not once did they show flashback to Raven stealing the ears and pouring out the coke

Sure, but they made that choice to have the eviction ceremony spill over into last night's hour. They could have easily edited some of Wednesday's show and aired the POV ceremony Wednesday, like they always do. But no, they wanted to portray Paul as some master manipulator and build up drama on Jess not using the Hex. "Look guys! Look what Paul almost pulled off!" He wasn't even close to pulling that move off.

Absolutely not.

My wife and I were laughing at how he seemed surprised the deal was off in his DR sessions. That deal was never going to go through.

I understand the first part, and from the perspective of wanting eyeballs tuned to the sets I get bringing him back. As for casing "leaders and followers" that's such a crapshoot. Their massive mistake was giving him 3 weeks of safety and 7 built-in allies with the damn bracelets. They shoudl have brought him back as a hat tip to last year and to appease his fans, but put him on even playing field with everyone else in the house. I mean it's almost laughable to even think about!! Bring back a returning player (the only one, not in a group), a guy who finished 2nd last year and was universally loved, and give him almost a month of safety and a half-house alliance! If I hadn't seen it with my eyes I almost wouldn't beleive it.

That makes a lot of sense, and seems pretty likely. It started as the big group (couples, Dom, Christmas, Paul, Kevin) with Paul and Cody vying for leadership, and the outsiders (Alex, Jason, Ramses, Jillian, Josh, Kevin) with Alex as their leader. A natural split would have made three sides fighting it out, two mortal enemies, then the outsiders taking advantage of the conflict. Alex was set up to make a deep run and a very entertaining season, and threw it all away to follow Paul and hang with the cool kids.

Exposing Christmas for plotting to exploit Cody for his military service and possible PTSD isn't social justice. It's American Justice

If you show the good you should show the bad then why even have the live feeds at all

In case anyone hasn't seen any of it, here's the conversation Paul led that they didn't show at all last night.
