yes, sorta.

There's a major twist this season that grants "ultimate power". I have a feeling it'll deal with the winner blocking certain people of their choice from voting. That's the only thing I can think of that won't completely outweigh the HOH

I've never seen survivor so I don't know the similarities.

Big brother is all about building alliances, being aware of who's in what alliance, being aware of when your alliance will turn its back on you, knowing when to win certain competitions and when to throw them and knowing how to use those in bad spots to flip the house in your favor.

If you want to find out how big brother is played at its peak, go watch clips of Dan Gheesling. He and Dr. Will are unanimously the top 2 players of all time.

The teams shite you saw last night will be done in a few weeks. That's not usually part of the game

Ok. So after 18 season I'm dipping into the Big Brother waters. Last night was the first time I've ever watched an episode. Anything I need to know about the show that's not obvious? It seems like Survivor minus the dirt, ocean, and heat so far. Is it just an alliance building show like Survivor at its core?

If you want to full Big Brother experience, you have to do the live feeds. They show is edited so much that you really don't know what all is actually happening in the house. I mean they do the best they can, but you can only fit so much in 3 one hour episodes a week (especially when comps take half that tv time).

Someone made the point wouldn't it have been smarter for big sister to be on separate teams and give Intel on the other teams? No one would have any idea they were an alliance.

I agree with you on some of your initial thoughts. Here's mine:

bronte- extremely annoying and not even remotely attractive. She would be my first pic to vote out of the females.

Paulie- I 100% agree with you. thought I would hate him but he seems cool. I don't like that he's essentially just Cody 2.0 but oh well

zakiyah- agree with you. don't know hardly anything about her yet, minimal screen time

glenn- agree with you. Likeable, the "everyman" of this cast. I want to see him showcase some police skills ala Derrick but sadly he may not be around long. It kinda sucks that this cast is mostly young outgoing attractive single people and then you have glenn as the major outlier.

natalie- super hot and I think she could be a good competitor.

victor- I really think CBS asked him to play the latino lover role, but that is not his true self. I think once he drops the act, we will really like him. should be a great social gamer and competitor.

bridgette- agree with you. very likable. Normal, everyday girl. Good head on her shoulders it looks like. She'll probably go far due to not being seen as much of a threat, IMO

jozea- I'm hoping he will be more of the Jason or Andy type of gay guy and NOT frankie. Opinion here is TBD.

tiffany- agree with you. right off the bat, seems more likable than vanessa. Maybe she's trying to lay low and avoid suspicion, who knows. But she seems more well adjusted mentally. That's a good thing.

corey- This guy is as vanilla as they come. BORING! Off with his head.

michelle- do not like her at all so far.

Paul- I knew immediately I would not like him when I first saw him and last night's episode confirmed my first impression. He has got to go because he will be that person that makes things awkward and I hate an awkward house. Much prefer a fun house.

The VETS:
Nicole-I find Nicole annoying 50% of the time. maybe it's her accent, maybe it's her nose, maybe it's her whining, I don't know. It's hard to like her.

Frank-dont' get me wrong, he's a great social gamer and competitor but he looks like he's been rode hard and put up wet. Not sure his head is going to be completely in the game.

James-love James, great social game and competitor. Hope he does well.

Mama Dey-I love her but geez she has had all this time to figure out how to get along in groups and she hasn't learned a thing. I don't know why on earth she picked Paul to be on her team. She should know by now she needs Beta males on her side and to leave the Alpha males alone...like don't even speak to them because she CANNOT get along with them.
