Hannibal, Vikings, Rick & Morty, GoT, Dare Devil, & IASIP are the top of my list.

Season 3 kind of sucks.

that's the vibe i'm picking up four episodes in, might not even finish, it's a shame because the first season was mesmerizing.

House of Cards

Ah good one, this is one I actually watch and am about to finish the 3rd season. I feel like this show has been on the decline since season 1, but it's still better than most of what's out there.

Honestly I think it jumped the shark at the end of season 1. Great cast and acting. But the writing is increasingly implausible and soap-opera-ish.

I'd forgotten about Fargo. That was as good as anything I've seen since Breaking Bad ended. I hope they keep it up in season 2.

Digging the love for Hannibal and yes, that would get my vote. It is superb.

The shows I'm thinking of only have one season but I believe they are the best to come out in the last few years. I'm waiting on seasons two before I decide my favorite.

The Returned (Les Revenants) - no one knows when season 2 is coming
Better Call Saul

I would have included Fargo and True Detective but those shows will look totally different in season 2 so I have my doubts.

For shows with 3 plus seasons I'm thinking Sherlock, House of Cards or Game of Thrones (haven't seen any of the current season). I've only seen one season but by the time I get caught up on Banshee I might think of that among the best based off of sheer entertainment value. That show is a blast, if you have a penis anyway.

Fricking fantastic show. I'd say it's on par with House of Cards IMO even though there is only one season.

I really only stay current with half hour comedies
what are the best half hour comedies on tv right now? silicon valley is great. i'm kinda over Veep - doesn't make me laugh like it used to and the half hour comedies i used to watch even though they're still on have run their course and i'm not into them anymore (modern family, the middle, etc.)

Why start the thread with an opinion and then admit your opinion means shite as you don't watch a whole type of shows. I would go with Game of Thrones followed by Fargo for non Premium. As for Silicon I know it is an unpopular opinion on here but I hate it. I would go with John Oliver's show as best comedy.

I think Ray Donovan deserves a mention.
