The Living Daylights
The Living Daylights by AHA is very underrated as is the movie. Quintessential 80s sound. Crank it up! It's better loud!!!
But the best is Live and Let Die.

I may have recency bias. I haven't went on a Bond kick in some time. The top ones off my head are:
Live and Let Die
Quantum of Solace
Skyfall
I actually dig the new one: No Time to Die by Billie Eilish.

I always hated Paul McCartney and Wings. But after about the 56th time listening to their version of live and let die, I gave in and said frick it. They nailed it.

Their version? It’s his song.

Another Way to Die and Die Another Day definitely tie for last place
Spectre’s “Writing’s On The Wall” holds that title. It’s so bad yet also so forgettable that nobody really even remembers it. Really hard to believe they listened to that song and said “Yep…this needs to be our new Bond song.”

Sam Smith’s lisp in the song is unbearable

You Know My Name - Casino Royale
Rewatching Casino Royale (2006) and this one is the best modern one for me. Nice change of pace with Chris Cornell that ushered in the Craig era, and it seamlessly followed a great intro sequence.

Where is the License to Kill theme on this list?

Tomorrow Never Dies has a good one. Sheryl Crow sings it.

I think Moonraker deserves a mention. It was very catchy and played quite a bit at the time.
Realistically "For Your Eyes Only" and "Live and Let Die" were clearly the best pop hits to have come out.

I hadn't heard that song before, and while it's good, it was like 4 or 5 years behind the times with that sound. Nothing wrong with it now as an 80's tune, but that just didn't fit in well with 1987.

For me, the song must automatically identify as "That's James Bond"...
There have been a lot of great Bond themes, but IMO only few immediately identify as a Bond Film.
Here's my list:
GoldFinger
The Spy Who Loved Me
Thunderball
Diamonds are Forever
You only Live Twice
A View To a Kill
I only need to here the first few notes and I know immediately this is a Bond film

Agreed. The three Shirley Bassey titles are my favorite:
Moonraker
Goldfinger
Diamonds Are Forever

1. OHMSS instrumental opening
The leaked No Time To Die soundtrack has a lot of throwbacks to OHMSS.
Amazing how a film that most people don’t know is even a Bond film and had some rough patches has so much influence. (It’s in my top 3)

Slightly off and on topic.
I always thought Alex Turner from The Arctic Monkeys could write a killer Bind theme. His side band, The Last Shadow Puppets has a very Bond-esque song.

Live and Let Die a solid #1. Catchy melody used throughout the entire movie, the song captures the mood and tone and specifics of the movie. Like the bridge of the song having a Caribbean feel and then it breaks right back into the song, etc.
