Cochran is one of the best full circle characters ever.

Andrea is IMO the most gorgeous girl to ever be on the show and that's saying a lot. Just on Caramoan Brenda is also absurd. Doesn't hurt that she (Andrea) looks just like a coworker of mine. Makes these Zoom calls tough.

My plan now is to sign up tomorrow for cbs all access 7 day trial and next week knock out 31, 33, 37, then finally cap it off with 40 then cancel all access.

After that if I'm not burned out I'll just go back and watch random seasons on prime. 12-28 are free on prime so I'll still have plenty to choose from

I finished 40 yesterday and it was incredible. Probably my favorite season.

Glad to hear it, I definitely have high expectations.

I know you recently binged the whole series, how in tbe world do you remember the cast and locations and scenes and winners while watching so much in a short amount of time?

I had some problems with it. I enjoyed it but couldn't get over a few things.

I also get swayed easily by my rooting interests. Anytime I root for someone and they win or do well, I enjoy the season more. I can think of a few that were probably good but I had a personal distaste for the winner and was disappointed in the season as a result.

Spoilers...

The Eddie, Reynold and Malcolm tribal to me was one of the biggest what could have been in Survivor history. They never should have revealed who they were voting for. That alliance would have fallen apart right in front of them if votes would have been thrown all over the place.

They should have just said 'we're safe and we're voting for 3 different people, you guys decide which one of you is going home'.

Frankly I have a very obsessive/completionist personality when it comes to these types of things. I didn’t only watch the seasons, I googled old news articles, watched YT videos and even a few podcasts series. Just completely immersed myself in the show. Like I said earlier ITT I moved across country right before COVID so I don’t know anyone and I can’t do much else right now.

I can tell you what all 40 seasons were in order and the winners including the top 2-3. For some seasons I can even list many of the jury members. I’m sure a lot of that will fade soon as I move away from watching and obsessing.

It had its moments, and it was cool seeing all past winners plying together, but it’s probably not even in my top 5 of best/favorite seasons. And that’s all I’ll say so as to avoid spoilers.

I think it's a top 10 overall season.

Bottom of the first tier, so to speak.

A lot of that had to do with the cast being all winners, players we could root for, or hate, right from the start.

It would be a few notches higher if not for the EoE twist being brought back, but I also understand why they did it.

I'm about halfwya thorugh S31 at the moment. It's alright but not super captivating. I think with the other seasons I've watched there's typically been a few people I really want to root for or against right from the jump but this season doesn't really have that for me. I reaely loved Woo in 28 but he's basically been a background character this go around. I liked seeing spence and kass again so that has been nice. Most of the other people I didn't recognize. We just made it to the merge (a very large merge at that) so I'm sure things will pick up but it's definitely a little slower going than the others I've watched.

On an unrelated note, I did find an article that gives a quick little spoiler free rundown of every season in a ranking format. Obviously the heavyweights 20/40/28/16/etc were at the top. Season 34 was ranked kind of in the middle i think or maybe even the bottom. I quickly skimmed through this thread and don't think I even saw 34 mentioned a single time. So basically in my head I'm thinkin 34 is probably just a lame unremarkable season that people barely remember. But then I looked at the cast and was shocked! Hot Andrea who I just watched in 26, Sandra, Cirie, Malcolm, Ozzy who I love, JT, Tony from 28. What the hell!? That reads like a damn all-star lineup and that's only from the people I recognize! So what in the world is it about 34 that doesnt' get it any love or recognition?

34's a good season, I think.

Somewhere in the middle is a good place for it to be ranked, but the middle tier of Survivor is still quite entertaining.

Thank you both for not includign spoilers. That's disappointing though because right off the bat I already like almost half the cast.

I've got the 7 day trial of cbs all access but unforrtuantely have had to go into work more lately, so I'm going to be really pushign it to finish these 4 seasons by end of weekend. After 31 I'm doing 33 then 37 based on recommendations from the board. LEading up to 40 which I am so excited for. Would it be silly to drop one of those 2 seasons (33/37) in favor of 34? Or is it truely just not even worth it?

I don't think 34 is worth a watch if you only have time for a few seasons. I don't think it's a horrible season, just kinda okay. Nothing all that exciting happened post-merge that I can recall.

You could just watch the final episode to get a feel for it. It'd include a season recap.

that's not a bad idea at all. Ultimatley I think I value great gameplay over the cast of characters, so if it really is just kinda boring and meandering through the whole way I don't think I'd enjoy it simply to see people I like.

Actually there is a unique situation that played out at one of the late tribal councils in season 34. It had never happened before, and hasn't happened since. I think it was when there were 6 people left, maybe 5.

Well damn. If you're bored could you wiki the season and see what episode it was? You've piqued my curiosity now and I have to see it ha

Thank you! Will probably just watch the 2nd half of that episode and the finale to satisfy my curiosity for that season.

Just pulled it up, and episode 12 is the final episode. It'd be a good one to watch, then decide if you want to watch the whole season.
