Be honest. Do you give a shite about the Oscars this year?

I don't care about the politics. I've watched many times despite the ridiculous political stances of Hollywood. I'm just not inspired by any of this year's nominees.
La La Land looks like another self-important, Hollywood masturbation fest, and the other nominated films I've seen are just not compelling. The fact that they nominate 9 movies now, in order to market lower budget films, has also been annoying me in recent years.

If I had seen any of these movies I might be more invested. However I've seen zero of the nine best picture nominees and I highly doubt I've seen anything else nominated. I'm more of a wait til they are on Blu Ray type of movie watcher.

The problem for me this year is that the movies for the most part were not that good. I mean yeah la la land and arrival are really good but everything else is just meh. I don't remember a worse year for movies than this past year.

I've honestly never seen an Oscars, Grammys, Nobel Prize or any other award show. The idea just seems dull.
