Why did Thanos wait 5 yrs to destroy the infinity stones? And furthermore why did he destroy them? He didn't need to he could've easily killed any being in the universe easily that wanted them.

Also a separate question - thanos has insane knowledge he even admits as much that's how he could use each infinity stone without hiccups. How did he not know man or any being for that manner had a separate time traveling mechanism?

Seems like he would've known that pretty easily if it existed and removed anyone that knew how to operate it via the snap.

No, it wasn't.
Infinity War takes place in 2018, same year it was released.

I see so he died shortly after Wakanda battle.

Question still stands of why did he destroy the infinity stones? We was unstoppable with them.

For him, it was never about the power, it was about bringing balance to the universe. Once he achieved this goal, he was content to retire and farm. He even says that he destroys them so that he would not be tempted to use them or allow some else to undo his deed.

Yeah he just wanted to chill and make soups out of space fruit but the Avengers came in all aggro.

It still doesn't make any sense he could keep the infinity stones and not doing anything with them but they are safe in his hands - the universe would be balanced fully that way.

My apologies on my first question in OP I now see it was 24 days since the Wakanda battle and thanos death.

My man really thought he could kill half of all life and then chill like nothing happened.

Thanos’ fatal flaw was his God complex. He really thought he was right to such a degree that the idea of the universe not being grateful for his mass slaughter was unimaginable to him.

Like in Endgame, all he had to do was have Nebula take the stones, redo the snap and then time travel back. Then, not only was the work finished, but the Avengers would have had no Pym Particles left to undo it again.

Instead, he was so enraged by people not accepting him as a savior that he decided to stay, try to kick the whole planet’s arse and destroy a universe for not bowing to him.

He wasn’t honorable and determined. He was psychotic and a fool. Just a very well spoken and viciously effective one.

Also, Rose throwing away the diamond at the end of Titanic is more egregious than Thanos destroying the Infinity Stones imo. At least Thanos didn't want anyone else to hold the same power. Rose did not want her family to sell the stone and have a large inheritance.

Rose is more evil than Thanos.

Rose observed & verified a few days into the cruise that there were not enough lifeboats on board for every passenger.
