Endgame easily at this point.

I probably was more hyped for TLJ bc I love Brick and Looper. One of the biggest disappointments ever. Maybe the biggest.

Silly question.
I don’t even know when Star Wars is coming out and don’t care to even look it up. I’ll watch it at home. I hope it makes under a billion.

Rian killed almost every character too

As far as the star wars hype...i remember when a kid, people would line up for days in tents and chairs waiting for opening night.

Agree. MCU films come and go in repetition without leaving anything memorable.

For you, maybe. For millions of others, they would disagree. Bottom line, whether you hate the MCU, don’t care, like it, love it, whatever, it is probably our generation’s Star Wars.

15-20 years from now people will be asking others what it was like at the end of Infinity War. Laugh at that notion or dismiss it, it’s pretty likely that will be the case.

This is the mainstream music argument. Popularity is not a great measure of quality.

The films are okay but highly forgetable. A handful are good to great but they nothing special.

It still can be enjoyed. Not shtting on the franchise. But most of the installments lack "life" and draw no emotion.

That’s, like, your opinion man. To me and millions of others the films aren’t forgettable at all. I’m sure there are those that think Star Wars is forgettable. Hell, most of Gen Z and part of the late millennial generation hasn’t even seen the OT trilogy. Does that make them less great? No. It just means the films aren’t interesting to them or are forgettable.

This will likely be the case with the MCU.

I know, right? Marvel is popular right now, but let's see if people are still loving these movies 40 years from now.

The movies are forgettable to you but that’s your opinion. Millions of other people disagree with you.

The quality of the SW films has nothing to do with people no longer waiting in line. Unlike the theater situation in the early 80s, theaters have more than one screen now.

But that doesn’t mean it’s a fact that the movies are forgettable. Just like the millions who say the original Star Wars movies are forgettable, doesn’t mean they are wrong or right.

Just means that’s their opinion. My opinion is that the movies aren’t forgettable. Are there some that are? Like Thor 2, Iron Man 3, etc. that are? Sure I’d go with that. But there are 10-15 MCU flicks that will hold up well.

I’m sure there are more that disagree than agree but that’s not the point.but you can apply this kind of logic to almost anything. There will be those, regardless of the success of Endgame, that refuse to acknowledge the significance of the MCU in movie lore.

Some of the early movies aren’t as good as others, but as a whole, nothing like this has been done before, and probably won’t again, and has made millions of people care about these characters, which is pretty hard to do over the course of 22 movies. It’s also made millions pissed off about the whole genre and ready to discredit it at any turn. And that’s cool too. Everyone has an opinion, but like it or not, I think the MCU as a whole will be the Star Wars OT for a new generation. Feel free to disagree. I won’t bash you for it

I have zero amount of Star Wars hype in my bones. Endgame is another story. I watched the first Avengers movie minutes after I played my last high school baseball game. I have been invested in this shite for years.
