Damn. It will be great to see Caps Kooky Quartet together. That run of the books is where my screen name comes from. I hope they split the 4 of them off at least briefly for a mission.

And yes, even in the comics there was always a rivalry between the different "departments" (x-men and Avengers) as to where characters like Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and even Beast "belonged". Though with movies the rights deal makes it a lot more serious of an issue.

I don't mind them.

They had to add another female and there really isn't a long list of great females they could throw out there.

Scarlet Witch
The Wasp
Firebird
Valkyrie

The Wasp won't be added without Ant-man, no one really knows of Firebird, and Valkyrie is a possibility, but I doubt they would throw another Asgardian female into the mix since Sif will be in Thor 2.

Scarlet Witch is a pretty good choice based on what is left available.

Same for Quicksilver. They can't use any of the X-men and Spiderman is also out. I would've liked to see Dr. Strange or maybe Black Panther or Capt. Marvel, but I like Quicksilver.

I don't mind them either, they're the obvious choices tbh. I was just busting on it because AintitCool, or whichever site was treating it like a big reveal.

With two new heroes added, the character list is getting Game of Thronesian.

That is a good way of putting it. The number of characters could get ridiculous and the movie could result in just one major clusterfrick.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Black Panther cameo. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will also likely have small roles.

I'd much rather them just get rid of Hawkeye and Black Widow. Both characters don't really add all that much as far as power goes.

Black Widow will be in Captain America 2. I'm guessing they're bringing up some of these characters just to use them in small parts in different movies. Although I think Black Panther will eventually star in his own movie.

There's already too many damn characters. I'd rather they focused on developing the characters they have instead of trying to find enough screen time for everyone.

man first DC is too f-ing cheap to just buy off Marvel and renames Captain Marvel friggin Shazam but now Marvel is actually considering putting their worthless version that only gets used to renew the trademark in a movie?

Joss may have won this round but once a studio head gets an idea...

That's what Iron-Man 1-3, Thor 1-2, Captain America 1-2 are for.

Black Panther is a good character. As far as female heroes, marvel has always suffered finding a lead.

the female x-men could be great but thats not in the cards... sooo... you bring in a neutral character.... Psylock. (spelling may be off)

Psylocke
Not gonna happen. Not only has Psylocke never been a member of the Avengers, but she is definitely on the X-men side of the line.

No way they could use her.

agreed and just throw War Machine in there, I like Cheadle. Only as a small role though, in the final battle or something.

Rumor is Marvel is looking for a Black Panther

The site isn't sure if its for his own movie or an appearance in Avengers 2 or beyond but they're pretty confident that we will see Black Panther somewhere.

BP was the character that I actually wanted to see most and was hoping he'd get a spot in Capt America 2 but it turns out that one's going to have Falcon, Crossbones, Batroc(GSP), and Black Widow.

Avengers 2 starts filming early in 2014 so I'm sure we'll hear about an official lineup of characters at San Diego Comic Con.

Quicksilver being Magneto's son allows for a Xmen tie in.

and Scarlet Witch is Magneto's daughter.

Quicksilver has more reasonable powers, but Wanda...is WAY too powerful. She has the power to alter probability.

I hope they don't use the Ultimate Marvel version, because those two are in an incestual relationship there.

Speaking of Ultimate Marvel...if they were to add She-Hulk and used the Ultimate version...Liv Tyler would play her.

Miss Marvel is now "Captain Marvel" (Carol Danvers)

It just depends on which time frame you draw upon to define her powers. Back when it was just Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver and Wanda, she didn't have very much control over her "hex" powers and they weren't depicted as that powerful. She'd point at a villian and their gun might split open or something might fall on them from the wall, etc. That group wasn't much more powerful than street level heroes.

Over time the wrote her as much more in control and she could do much more powerful hexes. Like calling down a meteor and on and on. To be honest a lot of times they used her as a deus ex machina.

Maybe Wheedon wants to depict that arc - showing her as not that powerful at first but progressing when the team faces the big baddie at the end of this movie or in the next one.
